My Retired British Dad sees SIARGAO ISLAND as Second Home

My dad retired to the Philippines a few years ago and usually lives in Cavite City. But this week he surprised us with a visit because he sees Siargao island as his second home. It was so nice to spend some peaceful time together and he fit right into our island life routine.
Grandad Rob joined us for Story's first time as a swimming teaching assistant for the local kids of North Siargao. We got to see Story and her swimming teacher Chie start a new initiative to bring ocean awareness to the next generation.
Life in the Philippines can be an incredible place to spend your retirement if you make the right choices. My dad and I both agree on that!

Junjun is one of the guys teaching the kids. Junjun is the friend of Kulas of Becoming Filipino who just got married in Cavite last July 20/24. Junjun maybe attended the wedding, but i didn’t see him there in the celebration.Junjun is from Cagayan de Oro City where Kulas used to live.

Brought back so many memories, my two eldest daughters could swim before they walked. They took swimming lessons with a group called Water Babies. We live on an island as well, off the west coast of Canada, definitely not blessed with the warm waters that you have though. I'm blessed with 3 daughters, watching Story brings back wonderful memories for me, of time spent with my wonderful girls. We also spent time in the south of England, in Poole, again, the waters are much different than what you are experiencing. Nice to see Story interacting with other kids. Siargao is a kind of a fun beach to learn and to go something different from the other beach around. Its quite and cool to go swimming not so crowded in anyway. And also a lot of seeafoods to catch cz siargao is also a fishing ground. A wide and calmy ocean.a lot of adventure you can do.. nice place to live

It is so true when you grow older it is the memories of childhood that will make you go to sleep and that good feeling will bring up the good hormones to put you to sleep. Life is so short , now that I am going 60's , I wonder where the years went, I worked and worked 2 jobs for the last 20 years to buy a house and investment and now 1 job , concentrate on travelling. Enjoy life, do not keep working for your kids, just enough that they go to school and let them take care of themselves.
