Private William Howie Schooler, 1/4th Battalion Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed on Gallipoli during the Charge on the Turkish trenches at Achi Baba Nullah on 12th July 1915 aged 24. He was the son of John and Isabella Schooler of Paxton and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Helles, Gallipoli, Turkey. Before the war he had worked with his father as a joiner and he had enlisted together with John Henry in December 1914. He was my 2nd cousin 2x removed. RIP.........
