Another in what now appears to be virtually and unending collection of unheralded orchestral works made available to listeners via the uploads of interested parties via KZbin. I could once say that is a . . . work by . . . . Now I am privileged to hear so many interesting works I can't do that anymore. If I revisit what I have heard, I miss the ones I have not heard. So I have decided to keep exploring the stuff I haven't heard keeping tab on the ones I have heard by tagging them in some way.

Doug Bower -- Oh no....you MUST re-visit! A painting you can sort of take in all at once...and then analyze in situ. But music? Repeated hearings are necessary to finally discern the structure...and love the melodies. The last 4 minutes of Bruckner's 4th eluded me for years....and then suddenly....I MUST re-hear every week!

This is a strong, beautiful final Symphony by Englund, with delightfully intricate orchestration, and an obvious nod to Shostakovich in the third movement at 17:33 (his 9th Symphony).

I think this piece will require of me repeated listening to take it in. After a first exposure, my impression is that every moment of this work has been meticulously crafted. It seems that changing one note, or adding or removing anything would detract from it. I look forward to hearing it again. Englund may be a composer of genius who has things to say that are hard to grasp immediately.

Sounds like a hockey game you two...this is Brilliant as are all ( underplayed ) Suomi Englund. I'm Canadian so just give a puck about the music itself :) Grand stuff !

Enlimdr -- Am in total agreement: There's nothing wrong with them that a little Prozac and a polo-mallet wouldn't cure. Cheers from Acapulco!
