Holy shit that was amazing, as soon as he started playing the horn I got intense shivers. He's on to something with the 'It longs for something"

3/4 of my ancestry comes from Norway, Finland & Sweden. I am so glad to have found this man and his music, it has stirred my blood and moves me in a way that I cannot really put into words. I live on the other side of the world, in Arizona, USA, so in a very real way for me the internet has amplified the horn call so that it could be heard by my soul. I also love how he teaches that yes, one can have pride and connect with one's ancestry *without* devaluing other people and their roots. It is a needed message in these days of hate.

1:50 "the bear hates the sound of the Lur (kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4O0ZYN4jbWMp8U) but he loves the sound of the goat horn" . wanted to post that because it took some time for me to figure out what he was referring to.

I only noticed the bird noises in the background when he started to play the horns. I love the second horned instrument, very emotionally triggering. There is something in the mind that tells me this instrument is mine. Not just mine, but is something natural to the people I am. Scandenavian, and all this time exploring. Only one recent decision has got me enthralled to change everything. This horn draws those thoughts and desires out of my heart and mind, and somehow I feel this connection between the noise. I am going to listen to Flokis wedding song now.

His music and my obsession with the history of the countries are the reason I plan to get a DNA test to see if I have and Scandinavian ancestry. Would make sense because I am a very white person who has European ancestry around there and carry some traits.

Love the sound of these horns and am a huge fan of Wardruna too. I've been playing cow horn for a while but have been searching for one of these for ages, where in the world can I get a good sized goat horn for a reasonable price? Or even a pre made horn, with or without reeds.

I might be late but grimfrost sells some good goat horns. They are meant for drinking horns but you can make a bukkehorn out of it aswell!

At www.etsy.com/es/market/bukkehorn, but it's so expensive. You can do it by yourself... It's a little bit time consuming, but I'm thinking of doing just that.

I am probably going to annoy a lot of Odinists by pointing this out but this instrument is essentially the same as a Hebrew shofar. All pastoral cultures create musical instruments from animal horns and people all over the world are more alike than we are different. Peace, y'all!😊
@DavidAMarin5 жыл бұрын
To a real Asatru this wouldn't be offensive. Of course there's shared things between the cultures of the world, and, to quote the Havamal, man rejoices in man!
