Ingredients:
Dough:
100g butter (3½ oz)
100 g powdered sugar (¾ cup + 1 tbsp)
2 eggs
150 g all-purpose flour (1¼ cups)
1 teaspoon Baking powder
pinch of salt
1 tsp cocoa
1 tablespoon milk
cherries
Cream:
250 g mascarpone (1 cup + 2 tbsp)
200 ml 30% cream (¾ cup + 1 tbsp)
50 g 30% sour cream (3 tbsp + 2 tsp)
100 g powdered sugar (¾ cup + 1 tbsp)
Chocolate:
100 g chocolate (3 ½ oz)
50 ml 30% cream (3 tbsp + 1 tsp)
Cream:
100 ml 30% cream (⅓ cup + 1 tbsp)
topping cherries
Baking pan diameter: 28cm x 18cm
Bake: 180°C / 356°F 15 minutes on top/bottom heat

Die Klassische Donauwell kann noch verändert werden, in demman auf die Creme noch Butterkekse legt und diese mit Rum tränkt und erst dann den Schokldenguß darauf gibt .

Ich kenne ihn als Schneewittchenkuchen,so hieß er in der ehemaligen DDR . In der damaligen BRD war es die Donauwelle . Die Creme war jedoch Buttercreme.. war immer sehr lecker.

It‘s a variation on the classic ‚Donauwelle‘ / ‚Wave on the Danube‘. Usually there‘s a wavy pattern in the ganache - hence the name - which also makes eating it easier if the ganache is cold and disguises bumps in the surface. Also the batters are often marbled before baking. Keeping the layers clean like here is possible, but I don‘t really see the advantage. Makes one wonder how to call it though
