In the US, meat prices are very high right now. So, I think this recipe is great for those on a budget.
@blanktester2 жыл бұрын
I love eating meat but @@ej824dfw is right, the process of making meat takes way more resources than other foods. The studies bear that out but it also intuitively makes sense: meat comes from animals and animals need their own food which needs to be grown too. All the environmental costs associated with transporting and producing animal feed also needs to be accounted for. Then there's the actual impact of the individual animals and the impact from us eating the food. Meat is delicious but unfortunately wasteful on the scale it is produced. On the other hand, it's still not the biggest contributor to climate problems. Energy continues to be the biggest culprit there.

This seems like a great idea for vegetarians.... but certainly not a substitute for meat for people trying to count carbs or calories. Looks wonderful though! For those of you looking for a way to have a hashbrown substitute... there is a recipe similar to this without the flour. Simply get or make shredded cabbage, heat up mini fry pan with a tablespoon and a half of olive oil, add couple of drops of sesame seed oil, half crushed garlic clove, 1 teaspoon of garlic salt and another of garlic powder, add in handful of shredded cabbage, put on medium heat and mix every so often for 4min, add 1 egg.... scramble in egg with cabbage, make top flat and flip when bottom looks done (approx 1.5-2min after egg added) then flip. Your goal is to make the bottom and top slightly crispy without burning. Cook for about 1.5min more and you should be good! You can also mix cheeses in with the egg or add ketchup on top once done cooking. Its epic!

I will try this. I cook down shredded or chopped cabbage, drain it and add a mixture of sour cream, cider vinegar and sugar( to taste). Mix it together for a hot or cold slaw. Works with either red or green cabbage.

I have a fresh cabbage in the fridge and I was wondering what I should make with it. This recipe is very easy and I have all the ingredients except the yogurt which I will get tomorrow. Thanks for sharing this recipe with us.

Eat meat. Trying t substitute meat with greese manufactured oil soaked leaf is just going to make you eat more and more and add on weight. These fuckingstupid hippies out here giving people cancer with that much oil in the food to sell more and have views more.... nothing else , they don't care about your health...

the quick and easy version of this (minus the flour) is simply saute all of the ingredients for five minutes, using either fresh or dried curry leaves instead of thyme. Then add the beaten eggs and stir fry the lot. Fast and satisfying meal!

It was a recipe known as Bubble and Squeak back in the UK. A poor man's meal during the war, but you could jazz it up with grated cheese as well as adding some bacon.

Bubble and squeak has potato with cabbage and whatever else you like. This looks ok but it's not bubble.

I loved it when you pressed the garlic like play doh ha ha. Lots of really cool old fashioned appliances, the scale, the metal garlic press... gave the video even more character than it already had.

don't you use the garlic press?
