Funny thing. Maria's trying to put positive spin on Lehman here, casting doubt on Einhorn's remarks. Fast forward 1 week from this interview and LEH announces that it needs $6B -- the stock craters. Very interesting. The critical part of the analysis was recognizing that the other, non-mortgage credit was going down the tube with mortgages. Possibly something similar happening today - spreads widening across the board due to deterioration in energy-related credit.
