Deslumbrante!!!

To jest ( niestety, był ) absolutny geniusz. Człowiek Epoki. Niech ma chociaż pomnik w naszych sercach.

Great voice! JAN KIEPURA! He was one of the very best ones. I am proud that he was a Pole. And there was ERNST MARISCHKA in the crew, the director of the famous SISSI Trilogy

.. Amazon mal eingeben ... auch als Tausch !

Jewish, yes. Polish, yes. But he should be celebrated among Germans everywhere as one of the greatest interpreters of German song.

Wrong, he was born in Russia.

@@uweschreiber8226 Born in the village of Sosnowiec in the Silesian Voivodstvo/Województwo of Greater Warsaw, which was given a town charter by Czar Nicolas II of Russia in the year of his birth, 1902. Sosnowiec had been Polish, Prussian, Polish-Lithuanian, and Russian. His father was Franciszek Kiepura, of Polish ethnicity (the given name is typically West Slavic and the family name Kiepura has at least two attributes that distinguish it as Polish). His mother was Miriam Neumann, of Jewish ethnicity (apparently Ashkenazi, or German Jewish; Ashkenazi means "German" in Yiddish). A Jewish mother confers Jewish heritage. I didn't say he was "born" in Poland.
