When I watch Einstein, I can see what an amazing & intelligent bird he is. I ❤️ love watching Einstein! I love seeing how spoiled he is & how well he is taken care of. To see such a beautiful African Gray so well taught is wonderful! There are still some really good, kind, & caring people out there that take the BEST care of their birds. If it was not for people like this, these birds would not be in such good places, THANK YOU!

When I raised zebra & society finches years ago, I would make a mash of hard boiled eggs, including the shell, parsley, wheat germ & other things that the moms could feed to the hatchlings. The babies flourished & I would get multiple clutches! Those birds produced like bunnies! When the birds eggs would start to hatch the hens eat the shells, make a gooey paste out of it & feed that, nothing went to waste. It always amazed me at how fast the birds grew. At birth they were naked little creatures who’s mouth was wider than their body long! That was maybe half an inch in length. By the 4th week it was hard telling the difference between the parents and the babies! They were fun to raise, I enjoyed the chattering/singing & just watching them. I was always able to find homes for the birds, I never sold commercially. They are a nice bird to start with, as you can see if you want to put the time and effort in that is needed with birds. You don’t have the 25 - 75 years of commitment you have with parrots. So many people love the bigger birds, they are stunning, but they are also a lot of responsibility, require a lot of time, can be very expensive not just to purchase but also to care for. It can also be a challenge to find someone to take of the bird if needed, short or long term. Thank you for sharing Einstein, hope you, Jeff & Einstein had a Happy Easter!

Oh goodness... I missed the livestream ☹️ I was actually having a drive out as the evening here in the UK was actually glorious for a change! Lovely and hot all afternoon, and I’m one of those who hates being in the house when the weather is gorgeous. I stayed in the car the whole time, traffic virtually non-existent, live in the back end of beyond anyway, so hope there’s no haters cos I did that. I was watching all the nature and birbs at the local reservoir, it was fantastic. The eggshells birds eat are very good for them. Wild birbs eat raw eggs given half the chance, corvids go daft for them. They love ‘em!

Glad you got out and had a nice day!

Asseyez-vous. NOT good. Wherever you live, you broke the law. What if you’d broken down and had to phone the AA to come and rescue you? THAT would be/could be disastrous for spreading the virus. If you already live in/near the country, don’t be so selfish as to drive out where you could be in contact with others. Have you NOT seen the tv News of people on their death beds in hospital!!??

Asseyez-vous oh I would just adore to spend one day in your land. so gorgeous what luck to live there and the history. I’ve always wanted to live there in the back end of beyond :-) I live by Seattle Washington it’s beautiful too but still I’d just adore to live in the English Countryside 💜💟🌈🦋💙

Happy Easter to Marcia Mouse, GoSeeJeff and of course, our boy Einstein. Today's stream was awesome, loved seeing him play with his toys (more like throw them off the counter and potentially destroy them), eat that corn and the time on the porch was interesting too - I had never seen the regurgitating behavior from a bird on his own to an inanimate object, I had always seen it from a bird to either a mate or a chick. Hope the mockingbirds didn't scare him too much, he really took a defensive posture when he spotted them. That's what prompted my comment on what he had seen outside.
@einsteinparrot4 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the show! No, he was fine, but it was his posture that caused me to notice the mockingbirds. You were really observant too! Good job! As always, thanks for watching and hope you had a nice Easter!

Why do birds lose their feathers
@einsteinparrot4 жыл бұрын
He is feather picking. A habit he has developed over the years and we are working to resolve the issue. He goes to a very good avian vet and he is healthy. No one knows why some parrots pick their feathers. It is an issue that has never been scientifically researched and at best has only been hypothesized. It's terribly frustrating and if you'd like to read more go here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feather-plucking
