this is going to be a tough one to watch, the nature of the subject matter is so grim and yet I can't look away.

That’s how I feel! I hope to make something terrifying in a beautiful way, so people do stare, and not look away in disgust. So it certainly won’t be bloody or gory! The cannibalism is just an exagurated symbol of something way more common that excist in all of us! I think that might be lost on most people.. But it’s important to me which is why I’m making it! And by hopefully keeping peoples eyes from averting in disgust, some will see what I see. Hopefully!

I have seen that video too from nerdwriter. That painting is so creepy. Interesting how you interpreted it into the third dimension :) I also like that you do realtime videos, since it helps more understanding what you do and how much time you use for a sculpture 🤗

Just like you draw on clay and put volume work still on profile for face, do you the same for the torso too.

Yes, except the contour (which is what the profile of the face is) in the body doesn't move up and down in a straight line.

I'ìm glad you're taking the time to do a bigger than lifesize scale, I think this sculpture definitely fits the massive size, are you going to bo working on the twisted damned figure in the meantime (or some other sculpture) or will you be making more theory-based videos? to be honest I wouldn't mind either, great stuff as always!

It won’t be that much bigger than life-size! But even 1.25 bigger than life will look pretty intimidating. It’ll be pretty intimidating to make as well! I’ll make some maquettes for sure, maybe other smaller projects, I can only fit one big piece in my studio, and in my mind, at the time. I’ll certainly make some theory based videos as well! It will be a mix as always I think. This project won’t start for a few months at least. There will be other stuff in the mean time.

I laughed at the original painting and always thought it was meant to be a joke until someone told me it was disturbing,then for some reason I thought it was creepy Does that make me easily influenced or overly thinking? Either way I'm dumb

Haha, I find the original painting terrifying! But I think it's the story of how it was made, where it was found etc that makes it so creepy to me, not the painting itself!
