Seen them last year in a super small venue in Germany that was actually a tiny bar in a cellar that was completely packed, the band was directly in front of us and the singer hit my friend a few times with his hair when he was headbanging hahaha. They even sounded better than the studio version. It was an absolutely magical experience, but they only played for 30mins for some reason and then just left without any commentary haha.

After finding this album and three others of the black metal side of things, I've since listened to countless albums in the last month. This one really does stand out along with Minenwerfer's Alpenpasse, The Path's (Russian Band) Songs of Death. Additionally, the video for the album is incredibly well done at Mt St Helens, a place I frequent. The weather there is usually awful, so to get the imagery that they did for their vid shoot to perfectly match their song was pretty brilliant.

@@Nikator24 It's pretty dumb to compare the style of Darkthrone, or any other group and call it lame. It's a style dude. It has it's specific feeling, like any other band has with their unique style. More melodic doesn't mean better. Personaly, I get the minimalism of Darkthrone, it makes it way more dark, cold and real then the melodic stuff in my opinion, but it doesn't mean that the melodic stuff is garbage.
