How dare they wait the last week of last year to give us this masterpiece. It soars to my 2nd favorite ATEEZ song ever. The lore is so intense. The dance is powerful. And they spoiled it so hard at the concert. That big sphere hung above the stage at the tour and somehow we were just like...yeah okay that fits.

The crazy part is that Hongjoong said Halazia was a song they just threw out here to appease the fans before the next mini album. He also said that they were surprised by how well the song did and I'm just like?? They just threw this mega bop out there as an appetizer thinking no one would pay much attention to it?? And if they didn't think this song was good enough to put on their next mini album, then I am truly scared at what they have in store for us because Halazia is one of my favorite songs that they've put out to date. Ateez and their production team are crazy as hell for this.

You tearing up is so REAL!! I was in tears from first listen and you explained why so well!! I know exactly how you feel. I felt like I couldn't move after watching it for the first time. I had to rewatch it like 4 times before i felt like i could breathe. it's beautiful in every way possible.

It’s hard to believe they put this out thinking “it’s just a filler song” and not expect Atiny and everyone to go insane over it. It is absolutely perfect.

It's so funny to me that this album outsold The World 1 even though it's a single with remixes and one new instrumental (which is a mighty cool, chill track). It wasn't supposed to be quite all this, it was a bit of a holdover release to be between things, since they're now getting on with the European portion of the SECOND world tour they started last year. I can't with them, seriously! Competing against New Jeans was basically going to doom this to a great performance song that won't win more awards, but it was _so worth it_. It's my SOTY 2022, and it dropped the day before year end. You're right, it's everything that makes ATEEZ superior. I love it so much. It's been on repeat. I'm glad you got a chance to see/experience it.

Yes! ATEEZ does have that intensity but also the emotional value, they know how to pluck your heartstrings. They excel in making us feel their yearning, desperation and desire with their music and performance, it's just incredible. You aren't the only one this song made tear up 😄

It's so true what you said about their live performances having their own indescribable quality, I think it has something to do with their absolute commitment to any emotion they might be conveying in a given song, from angry to anguished to cocky to cute and anything in between.

Thank you!!!! Ateez hits different and I, too, have never been able to articulate why. Even with other groups trying to emulate them or use Ateez-like elements, Ateez is just different. The KQ machine is putting out some kind of indescribable Ateez product.

Thank you so much for this reaction! After getting through "reactors" who picked this song to react to because it was trending on Google/YT trends and couldn't even pronounce the name of the group. Or even know it is a group or a single person. It is so great to watch you react to this gem of a MV/dance practice. It brought tears to my eyes as well. It is a song of longing and a bittersweet recollection of how things used to be. Sentimental and bold at the same time. FYI, they shot this vid at an abandoned Mall in Bangkok, Thailand. The members have commented on the scale of this MV. How big it is. I don't know what cameras they shot this on but it is a step up. It looks like a Korean film rather than a music vid. Everyone came through. Everybody brought their A game. Not just the members. EVERYBODY. Producers, camera folks, stylists, choreo, everybody. Well done Ateez. They've begun year 4 of their journey and we all know how important year 4 is in the trajectory of Kpop groups.(Think BTS, for example, in year 4) Year 4 is when groups start to flex and know where they want to go and how to get there. IMO this is just the beginning of who Ateez is going to be. Their whole journey has been so different from other Kpop groups (first big attention came from OUTSIDE of Korea, etc.) They're doing it differently. Strap yourself in! Ateez is about to really take off. And I can't wait!

I was wondering when you'd get to this. Being a total Ateez fanboy myself, I knew you were going to nerd out over this song. And 100% agree that this blows Guerrilla out the water. Sorry Guerrilla stans, but for me, Ateez's best songs are the ones that capture the desperate aspiration for something greater. Cyberpunk, Answer, Inception, Turbulence, Utopia, The Ring, these are the defining tracks that push Ateez into a category all their own because of the emotional weight they're able to invoke, on top of being grand pieces of music. It's like a cinematic experience for your ears that no other Kpop artist can currently touch. Maybe Bibi to a certain extent, more so Lowlife Princes era, but Edenary is the best production team in the biz, so by default Ateez is better than Bibi.. 😬 But yes, Guerrilla is big, epic even, and the chorus goes much harder than Halazia's, but it doesn't achieve more than being a thunderous wall of music, while Halazia's anti-drop, although far more baren of sound with a repetitive vocal line, the impact is superior emotionally. It's melodic and haunting, and somehow a gut punch. It's ceremonial almost, or a ritual, like they're trying to evoke some sort of final strength to carry them through their darkest hour. Like a chant or summoning. I don't really know how to describe it or put into words what emotion it stirs, but Guerrilla definitely does NOT do that. My guy got teared up a few times, don't think we didn't catch that, lulz. That's why Halazia is in that category I mentioned above. It's on another level than Guerrilla, or really anything else in the industry for that matter. I'm just as much of a multistan as the next international Kpop fan, but when Ateez are in their element, no one can touch them. Not sorry.
