Many people compare it to the Golden Gate Bridge, but structurally it's more similar to the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge (it was designed by the same company).

the railroad deck was added later, it's not original to the bridge

That's correct, though the bridge was designed from the beginning for an additional rail deck to be built later.

I had recorded a stretch of A24 in Northern Portugal before, but this is the first video series focusing entirely on Portugal. I drove two-thirds of the Portuguese motorway system during this trip, over the course of two weeks.

Urban-area rest stop and gas station on a major freeway. Don't see that in North America.

It's literally an urban expressway, what did you expect? The only unusual thing here is the bridge at the begining given the local geography, but that's it.
