Thank you. I really appreciate that. Yeah, so my 2 uncles and I and maybe my kid brother (it's been almost 20 years) all wanted to play suikoden 2. And so the PlayStation was constantly going with separate saves for each of our run throughs & it got to be too much. I think someone didn't take it out & put it back in right, but most of the wear and tear just came from spinning. 2 is still amazing, i love 1 & 4, I've grown to appreciate 5 and Tetrikies but I have a hard time with 3. But I'm told 3 is good now so maybe I'll give it another chance.

Thanks. Yeah I loved the Suikoden games & kinda was unhappy especially in the 7th gen that complexity of story & mechanics was lost. So seeing finally the suikoden devs back in action is so exciting. And this is just the beginning. :)

This game really feel like a PS1 game with a modern graphic. The game is good enough but I kinda overhyped it for myself I guess 😅

Yeah, i loved it. I find myself making that mistake a lot also. It's easy to get overhyped.

the character designs are not better lol. and i just realized they are the exact same stories over and over but w different characters

It's ok. My biggest issue is the overall writing and story. Suikoden fans are now in their 30s - why is Eiyuden Chronicle written like it's aimed at 8 year olds? There's no stakes, no danger, no consequences, no heavy drama. No risks taken. It's a beautiful game, but I was disappointed.

Yeah, the writing needs improvement. I thought of it more like Suikoden 1, where bigger things were happening but only referenced. From my understanding there is a lot of DLC planned with campaigns for both Seign & Marrissa & then some of the other characters so that might help.

It was my first video review, and I also had to do a written review & produce photos/videos, social media. It was a lot of work that I wasn't quite ready for. I stand by it 95%, I would add some things like mechanics, but my feelings are about the same. I would add that many reviews these days skip over mechanics entirely now. Some reviews don't mention much of the gameplay at all.
