I like MS-DOS games. And I particularly like learning about new MS-DOS games. Here's three titles that I never played back in the day, but which caught my interest for one reason or another in recent times.

Can absolutely confirm! I went from the ST in 1992 to DOS in 1993, it was an amazing time.

@@pauleyc6264 Yes, same, must have been around '92 or '93 for us also. Wolfenstein 3D was new and exciting and Doom hadn't quite come out yet!

Sorry I disappeared for a bit Pete. I suffer a bit with anxiety which every now and then gets in the way of things. An interesting selection of games and I can also say that I had never heard of them before. This was a great era for PC Dos gaming which I think was a breath of fresh air when (to me) things had started to get a bit stale. Thanks as always for making these wonderful videos!

Legends of Murder has been on my "to try" list for a while. Lexi-Cross looks really cool and I'm sure I'd never heard of it at all before this.

I saw my friends playing some FPS that had a warehouse level with orange containers back in the early 90s. It probably was Lethal Tender. So after 3 decades I finally know what that game was xD

Excellent overview of less-common implementations of game mechanic tweaks. Lexicross in particular was a favorite of my wife and myself in college; RIP Peter Oliphant, who also coded the DOS port of Rocket Ranger.

Really some great and interesting titles. It really is quite amazing the shear number of really good and intriguing games are out there, especially on the computer side of things with DOS and so many other platforms. Take care and I look forward to many more videos yet to come.

Lethal Tender looks very weird... The resolution, the sprites, the color palette is not even on the same level as Wolfenstein 3D. But there is a huge outdoor area, height... Even slopes ! It's like a 1991 engine on steroids.

I didn't play any of those games, especially the first one is a game i would have enjoyed a lot back in the days

I know it's not the point of the video, but since you mentioned it, I wanted to say that I'm in the minority in not liking Epic Pinball. I've played the full release with all the tables and out of them, there were only one or two that I thought were decent, I know it came out much earlier, but after having played Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies on the Amiga, Epic Pinball just seemed kind of blah. I mean, I've played and enjoyed other old pinball games, but there was something about Epic Pinball that just didn't appeal to me. As for Lethal Tender, you mention that the name caught your eye. Sis you know that there's actually a cheesy action movie with that same name? Lethal Tender (1996), starring Jeff Fahey, Kim Coates., Carrie-Anne Moss, and Gary Busey. It has a completely different plot than the game though. :)

Excellent to know! I shall watch out for that when I remember movies exist! (seriously, I haven't actually watched a full-on movie for years) I haven't spent enough time with Epic Pinball to really have a strong feeling about it. I know some folks absolutely love it, but I think I overall prefer slightly more recent pinball games with a more "3D" look to them.

@@ThisIsPete I'm torn on the style of Pinball video games. The newer 3D games look much more realistic, but then again, I suck at real pinball. If the game is good, I'm OK with it being the older, pixel art style. One of my favorite pinball games is Devil's Crush/Crash on the Turbografx 16/PC Engine. I like that it has elements that wouldn't be possible in the real world, like enemies that freely move around the table and parts of the table that change. A couple weeks ago, I played a Star Wars pinball game in a store. It was pretty much a full sized table, but instead of being mechanical, it was a video screen and there were quite a few tables. I only played a couple and they seemed pretty good. Of course I immediately thought, "I wonder if anyone has ripped this and emulated it?" :)
