I started my apprenticeship as a mold repair guy. Before my school was done I had gotten laid off. That sent me into a job shop machinist environment. Now I am back in the mold shop and these videos are really helping me get back up to speed.

I find the ejection system more reliable and free moving if you added 4 bushes locked between the ejection plates to run on 4 dowls locked through the back of moving half back plate, then the push backs then can be slightly under diameter along with all the head of the ejector pin, very slightly floating between the plates. For what it takes, it's worth it.

Thanks for the tip! In this mold, I purchased a premade mold base, so I will see if I can try your ideain the future

Thanks again for taking us along in the process! It's all very interesting to me as I never did have opportunity to work around a mold shop.

Do you have any videos on sliders or lifters? Other than the one that used hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders to assist?

Yes, kzbin.info/www/bejne/il61pWtriKhlo9E. the side pulls on that mold had problems, so you can see the follow up videos where I fixed the crash from my not so great side pulls. Also, kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6enaYuAe9WkmJI and kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWHcZHeAm812gbM

@@DragonflyEngineering huge thanks! Not just links to the videos, but timestamps! I'm going to watch the whole videos anyway, but that shows your attitude of doing it right and going above and beyond. It's highly unlikely I'll ever need any mold work done, or know anyone that does, but if I do, I'd send it your way. Also, not sure how I missed the first one, it's literally in the title.
