23:33 "If the world is made of language, then why isn't it the way I want it to be?" I've heard Terence pose this question several times, and I've thought about it. I think the probable answer is that the vast majority of the language that's spoken, heard and thought describes the way we do not want the world to be. And Terence is one of relative few who actually does language how he wants the world to be, in addition to deep-dive articulating the problems. He has also said several times something to the effect that if we can't name it, language it, it can't happen.
@NooneNowhereNoteverАй бұрын
Can’t help but feel like most languages were designed that way with dual connotations and colloquialisms. Language is alive and morphing with age, but in whose favor?? It’s important to chose your words wisely for this reason, but even so, have we been set-up for failure from womb? Can any amount of discernment and integrity and conscious verbiage produce the desired world the way you want it to be??
@sharonmassey2923Ай бұрын

So when “psychic” things happen, like for example, I think of the word “zeitgeist” just a few seconds before hearing Terrence say that very word.. it may Appear that, according to the convention of retrograde precognition, this was an occurrence of psychic thought, of the incoming future rippling into the past. But there is just as much evidence to believe that my very thought created the future of the video including Terrence and this particular choice of word being the same. But of course, this video playing in my future is but the record of something from the past. So then you could say, Terrence’s words from the past came to the future, and just before I heard them, they went back to the slight past of when I was to precognize his words before hearing them. Yes it is a cannabis canvas, a circular weave of threads and each one leads to another, or is lead to by another. The head, the tail, whichever part of the ouroboros snake each moment is we cannot say exactly. Each moment then becomes a head and a tail at once. This related back to some thoughts that have been echoing thru heavy synchronicities lately for me. Alpha and omega, beginning and end. Destroyer of worlds, the atom. Christian Adam, Hindu Atman, Egyptian Atum, and of course, atom. The atom bomb, the destroyer of worlds. As well as the fabricator. Our universe is spherical, and the edge is the edge of our perception outward. Just as, historically speaking, the atom was defined as the smallest perceivable individual unit of matter: the edge of our perception inward. So thus, the edge of our largest and smallest view literally is just the edge of an atom. And so our universe is quite plainly contained within an atom in the universe above it. And likewise, each atom in our universe contains an entire universe within. But deeper than this, is time. For our sensation of existence is all based on the story of self. The story of the ego. Which is all based on, what happened in the past, and what will happen in the future. Even in silent meditation, we feel that we are in a place that we just were before, and we feel that we will soon be in that same place a moment later. But if we were truly to remove the past and future entirely from this conception, what then would appear? I reckon there would be nothing at all. Thus this now moment is the alpha and omega, as it is always the beginning and end of what is perceived as the flow of time. Thus, when we dive deep enough into the present stillness, perchance we can destroy ALL things. Because with no story of where we are coming from or where we are going to, no Thing can exist at all. No item can appear, and no separate individual body can exist. Thus time is collapsed in the now moment. And yet, we can scarcely achieve this level of present ness. The mind or the sensation of sound or wind blowing or the feeling of our chest rising with breath, all of these things cause the beginning and ending edged to infringe upon the thin NOW moment and thus completely snuff it out. And it is useless to attempt to suspend all of the past and future phantoms by will force! For the very notion of will worse is based on those same past and future stories. Thus, “we” are completely at the whim of this triune godhead and it’s movie playing out called life. Called experience. We cannot do a damn thing about it. And yet, IRONICALLY and quite comically, almost comedically genius, if the universe may say so itself, is that despite this thought appearing futile and unresolving to this current quandary, we know that this kind of thought, this kind of true admission that begins to expose the illusion, can perhaps become something of a precursor to the great unveiling of that illusion. In other words: all thoughts, all words are part of the veil of Maya. The veil of Maya is only pulled back to reveal the absolute silence of nothingness and everythingness at once. And yet! These thoughts, as part of the veil, beckon the end. The are self referencing and.. ego destroys ego. Mind exposed mind. The vasana or illusory thought form that says, “all thoughts are vasanas” is itself a vasana. Thus, the end of illusion is preceded by the illusion itself fessing up.. to its own tricks. We have seen this fact many times. The illusion keeps saying it! And then reneging. And then wavering back and forth so many times. The ego then mistakenly says that it is being tortured by this turbulence. But really, the ego cannot be tortured, because the ego has no consciousness. Rather, it is consciousness which has ego. Consciousness has many egos! Just as the sea has many waves. But they are all connected. So this comment is but a wave proclaiming itself to be merely the sea. Which is funny because the sea is then talking to itself. The whole universe is entirely schizophrenic. And it is really fun, when it is not play acting as a pitiful and miserable wave.

@@lukemcfarland9759 johnk sounds like he is repeating what a popular guru is now saying (mind= memory and imagination). The issue here is that there is no 'one' to go beyond the mind. The person who thinks they must go beyond the mind is still subtly identifying with the mind. Looking at the generation or base of something is important, as it informs what comes later; ex. his statement indicates he is seeking the Eternal; what this means exactly to the person I do not know, but seekers do not find what they are looking for; the premise of seeking is that you do not have it. Seeking works outwardly, but inwardly it does not work. As for your question ime when death occurs it is like one never existed; a wave rises in the ocean, and then it falls away; what remains is just the water and the promised movement of the water.

I say to Terrence that the Cosmos is a system of bits of data and info connected by relationships. Each bit of data is a cell of individuated self-awareness. In a field of time, these cells of self-knowing assemble themselves into relationships of larger and larger organisms, alive and persistent. It is as though the Oneness of the Creator conceived of Pi and other irrational numbers and thereby splintered herself into infinite plankions...and now is passing eternity stitching himself together again in grander and grander systems of self-knowing. Aho! and Amen! I miss you brother.

That hypnagogic state he talks about drifting through after orgasm can be found other ways. I go there during a really good scratch, it can become addictive. I'll feel a little tickle of a certain type and scratch there and go to some inner mode where I know how to move my body to get it to crack effortlessly. I'm an overthinker who can't usually let go of the monkey mind. But in this inner body scratch pop awareness I am something else, I know things I don't know otherwise. Reminds me of the way things feel during trips on various tryptamines, I can only remember the other times I was on that level when I'm on that level. There is a barrier of fog when I'm in my normal consciousness. But drifting after an orgasm or during a nice scratch or huge poop I am reconnected with that deeper layer in some way. Nice mystery spice in the background of my life. I suspect it will all be so obvious during death when I break through that wall of ego fear, so easy, like taking off a jacket.

Intellectuals normally don’t believe in conspiracies because as public figures it’s career suicide. They can justify it in wild ways. But really it’s probably just a model of reality that they find distasteful so they bury it. But the most simple minded person recognizes this as a fact before adulthood. In fact it’s probably the definition of being an adult, accepting this whole show is being run by someone and not for our benefit.

Right - I think almost anyone can accept that we live in a world surrounded by crystallized thought and will. Many may not view it that way, but if you explain it to them they probably wouldn’t find the thought that crazy. Now look past the appliances, the knick knacks and doodads that decorate your home, the shows on TV, the clothes you wear - look past all the physical objects that make up our world and look at the society and systems that we treat as just as real as those things. Whose thought and will are these a representation of? All the things the many begrudgingly accepts as “the way things are” for the benefit of the few. Can you really say no one is making these decisions, as if they just appeared out of nowhere? Try saying that about any of the other things I mentioned.

You don't have to reduce "everything that happens is just chemical reactions" (it feels too sterile - we all know it - life is chemical reactions, yes, but it's more) to see that control IS the illusion and nothing has it. Just start here: even if there's a God in the cartoon story-book form, and even if that God can do whatever He wants with the snap of a finger, he's still limited to 'what he wants.' Not that he's limited, per se, but he is moved to do that which he feels is correct, that which he thinks is right, that which he experiences himself wanting. And, all consciousness is this way. And no consciousness can make itself want something if it doesn't already, and even if it could, it's not up to that consciousness that it wants to change its mind. Aka, your will isn't up to you. Free will or determinism, either way: you experience simply "I want XYZ", whether XYZ is a candy bar or sex or spiritual enlightenment or propriety, or the bad parts of you too. It's will expressing itself. You can't change your will, because if you could, it's just more will expressing itself in the change. Your will WILL change, sometimes, maybe, but it won't be up to you. And in the end, it's only ever expressing itself to you, moment by moment. But it's not no-holds-barred. Because a) it's not even up to you what you do, you're not in control. But b) it's not up to you that you have a conscience, either. Even if you think your pesky conscience is wrong or outdated about something: some judgment 'society' put on you, still, it's not up to you to 'feel or not feel' that belief. You can't make yourself love the person in front of you just by saying I love you. You can't feel something differently than you do, until you do. Your conscience (your judgment about 'what is good', your preference) is not up to you. You feel it. Nor can you learn on purpose. We DO learn, thank God. But we don't rearrange our neurons to finally get it. And even if we did, again, it wouldn't be up to us that we're wanting to and then actively rearranging our neurons (for the sake of the example). We're not in control. So we're stuck, completely. And so when you see that your very next thought, your next judgment, your next eye twitch, your next decision: it's not up to you, then little muscles and tissues in your body that have been clenched, acting out the belief that you're 'the chooser' (you're not, nothing is)... they begin to unclench. Maybe. Again, nothing is up to you. But feel them. Put your mind on all anxiety. It's really just clenched tissues in your body. Breathe, rhythmically, shallow or deeply, and just feel the physical location of any and all fear. Moment to moment. Clenched tissues in your face, throat, chest, abdomen, groin. Again, you CAN learn, but it isn't up to you that you do. So try. Learn to put your mind on your fear - the physical location of the icky feeling itself. Not feeling it (being clenched) is what blocks you from being relaxed and loving. And remember it's not up to you if you have faith. Nothing's up to you. But you've gotten this far. And life still has meaning: you know it. Hence, you can relax (if you do), and trust (if you do), and that IS faith.

Is this actually McKenna speaking or is this an AI talk? (Particularly that first part)
@DanitFriedmanКүн бұрын
Terence is speaking. in all the lectures. see the name and details of the lecture in the description and you will find out that it is a very known lecture. You can hear it in many other channels and websites, years before my upload.

we learn the ABC song and by magic we don't care about letters anymore. i kno the song and that's all i need. meanwhile 4 of our letters are redundant and the majority of them are spoken incorrectly. endless words with multiple meanings. vowels getting used wrong constantly. it's almost like a circus with clowns. ehem. it's exactly like a circus with honking clowns. 3 ring circus comes from the Odd Fellows. he neglected to mention this historic group of controllers for some reason. and there is no doubt that he was aware of them - and their level of control.
