Nebula Bunny honey go educate yourself before commenting, all horses foam at the mouth it’s natural, he’s not restricting the head he’s keeping the contact as a horse as powerful as that if allowed will easily go out of control the “tiedowns” I believe you are talking about is called a breast plate and is there so the saddle doesn’t slip back and cause pressure and pain to the horse therefore helping it and when used correctly spurrs are good it means you don’t have to completely boot the horse every time you kick if it’s off the leg and he’s not jabbing the horse, competition as big as this do a shot tone of health checks on the horse before to make sure the rider is using tack and spurrs correctly so piss off u uneducated lowlife

Aber man muss sagen, dass der Reiter und das Pferd nicht von der Frau beeinflusst wurden. klar, es hätte was passieren können etc. Aber der Parcours wurde nach Vorschrift absolviert, keine unnötigen Verzögerungen oder so, aufgrund der Frau. In dem Fall, war der Zeitfehler also berechtigt

schleich lover707 I re-watched it and she ran across the combination as he was jumping them, I think the dangerous thing is that the horse won’t be effected by the people standing there quietly but when someone is running round with some sort of flappy banner, no one knows if the horse is gonna spook at that or if it will throw the rider off and they’ll end up messing up a stride which could result an accident and having the horse fall over? xx

Whatever odd happens, the horse become „looky”. If there is a thing, the horse examines it. And it makes him wonder - „Am I supposed to go for it, or am I supposed to run away?” Maybe he chooses the first option, but that moment of thinking too much is risky on such big obstacles. He may change his rhythm and widen or shorten his steps. It mostly causes penalty points.

Do they not understand how much time and effort each individual rider puts into the horse?! These horses are most certainly not abused when jumping and you can tell because of how well they respond to the rider, and how their training pays off. Jumping into the ring and possibly causing the horse to get distracted and trip after landing a jump could be fatal. It just shows how well they do with their horses because of how calm to horse stayed, and how he kept going with it and trusted the rider. If they are going to protest anything horse related, do it on some of the horse racing industry. I say some because there are many people that care for the wellbeing of their horses when training and racing them, but there are far more deaths from hurt horses that are overworked, raced while pregnant (kills many mares and unborn foals each year.) and just not being trained right and not being able to practice enough which could make them sore and unable to race. They are then almost immediately sent to the kill lot. If ant horses die in showjumping it is almost always because they do not make a good landing after the jump and their feet get caught on the jump (rotational fall) or because they die of a disease or being injured. Most former show jumpers are too valuable to be sent to the kill lot.

Reminds me of Jack Pinkney (eventing rider that continued riding with a broken rein which resulted in his horse smashing into a wall). If something unexpected happens during the course that the horse isn't used to, you stop. But hey, stopping means losing money and well, equestrian "sports" are all about money.

As someone who works with these horses I don’t want to hear about it. They are entirely and completely pampered. Any slight ailment is given focused attention and they are given anything they could want. Obviously there are some negative practices in the sport but that’s true for any sport including one with just humans. Maybe you should get an inside perspective on a culture and practice before you shit on it.
