Lovely video! Our family is going to Japan in late November for a holiday, and we are so excited to ride the trains and eat bento 😋.

Thank for taking us along for the ride. I love the views out the window so thanks for shooting that. I ment to mention from another video I really love that Hawaiian shirt, it's cute! And the bento looked good.🍱🚄😊

Haha happy to see sometimes even Japanese get confused by the train stations

I think you had heat cramps or heat exhaustion previously. If you had heat stroke, you need to get medical help immediately. Please take care and hydrate frequently

I haven’t get to try the Ekiben in 🇯🇵 yet. So I’m surely gonna try it in Jan when I visit! ✌🏻🇸🇬

Aloha Shinichi. Totally loved this video. We will be visiting Nagoya next month and will rewatch your videos to check out what to do. We also will be taking the Shinkansen back to Tokyo enroute to Tanigawa Onsen. I want to eat the same ekiben that you had. Mahalo for sharing your life with us.

I’m always so in awe of the prepared everywhere in Japan. It’s so inexpensive and easy to get. As a single person if I lived there I would hardly ever cook. I’m in Canada and it’s just so expensive here, and in Edmonton where I live, just urban sprawl cause everyone wants their McMansions.

Used to live in Edmonton! Definitely a different world from Japan haha. Though at least you can still find cheaper places to rent/buy a home relative to other parts of Canada. Hope you're enjoying the fall weather, I'm sure the fall colours are beautiful there right now.

It was lovely to have lunch with you on the Shinkansen, Shinichi. The ekiben you chose looked delicious and very much to my taste. Are there vegetarian ekiben available at stations in larger cities? I'm glad you had a relaxing time in Nagoya, despite the heat exhaustion. I like that you always make the best of things. Love to you and Satoshi. 💙💜

I love ekiben because you can conveniently sample some of the specialties of the area you are visiting while on the train. I often used to eat on the "food" floor of the old Shirokiya at Ala Moana Center in Hawai'i, and one of the my favorite special "guest" vendors from Japan made tenmusu. I didn't notice that it was from Nagoya, but I always got some every year because we couldn't get it anywhere else in Hawai'i. I used to feel sorry for the workers who had to stand all day quickly making the little musubi, and when I saw two of them on break sitting on the street curb outside the store, I chatted with them and found out they come in for a week and have to work the whole time, so they really never get to do anything in Hawai'i except maybe eat some ramen or fast food in Waikiki at night. I miss the old Shirokiya food floor with the regular and special featured vendors, except it was too crowded and there wasn't enough seating. I preferred it to the big Japan Village Walk that Shirokiya moved to (and went bankrupt).

I want that ekiben!!!! It looks delicious and the bento with many different dishes is my favorite as you can try many different things. I really want to try the miso katsu as I never had it.

Yes, I tend to want to know all my options so it takes a while for me to decide on things. I like any Ekiben that looks like a Sushi lunch.
