@@danielcanty5727 thats the added benefit but the main reasons are symbolic. - hair is symbolic of memory/trauma; - silco is the one who braided her hair; and cutting her hair symbolises letting both go.

also… for that last fight scene, the animators didnt know how to work with her long braids when she’s "flying" on her weapon. But I like all the reasons above better haha

Originally, S2 E9 was actually an hour and a half long, and I believe it's confirmed that Ekko told her about alternate universe Powder to give her a reason to keep living, although a lot of people think she died when she definitely didn't.
