The idea is to be in as relaxed or calm a state as possible. Put on headphones if you need to. Best time is the right before you go to bed. The brain is supposedly more receptive in that relaxed state.

Ok to the people who are wondering if this worked, I’d say it’s kinda complicated... When I was really young, my family moved to China to live there for half a year for my dad’s job and they told me that I could understand Chinese and speak it on a normal child’s level of vocabulary, but once we moved back to my birth country, they decided not to keep teaching Chinese to me. Like I understand that it’s not my parents’ main language or even second, but I would’ve been so grateful right now if I knew how to speak this beautiful language fluently.
