The idea is to be in as relaxed or calm a state as possible. Put on headphones if you need to. Best time is the right before you go to bed. The brain is supposedly more receptive in that relaxed state.

I’m Thai. Thai rarely uses “good afternoon” and “good evening”. We use good morning some times when we in a happy mood. Normally we use “hello” for greeting all the time except “good night” which we use “good night” instead of Thai word.

You can't learn anything while sleeping. Crazy man, it's true the 5 tones are tricky and awkward when using several words but if you can get over that aspect it's very easy in every other way. Even the learning the writing is surprisingly easy once you start with flashcards.

One problem i have...and i think most males will relate...is that most of these thai learning videos are teaching how to speakwith feminine words. For newbies who have no idea of khrup-kha, or chan-pom...they will automatically use the feminine words for their masculine selves. We need more men teaching Thai.
