Very useful video make sure the black plastic ring grommets are pushed well in or the grommets will prevent the wedge from separating.The same is true when reassembling. A bit of WD40 will help ease the wedges , mine took a great deal of effort to separate.

Not near as easy as the video shows. One big problem is that the screws have blue Locktite on them. We tried a screw driver, and an 18V impact wrench. The screws would not move . You will need a large ratchet with an extension and a Torx bit. Then there is getting the seat loose. The "pushing the grommets in" is not easy. You will need someone with very strong hands and a lot of patients to do this.

What do you do then you cannot get the seat to release from the dovetail joints? Am I the only one who has the problem of these things sticking together as if they were welded?

@@conormills1264 they get very stuck with time. I used penetraring lubricant and a hammer and dull chisel. Once the seal of age (don't know how else to say it) breaks, they come right apart as they should.

Yes those things get wedged together over time almost bonding the frame and back together like glue. Try laying the sofa on its back and have one person pull the grommet back (very important) then use a long screw driver or something like chisel and you have to place the screwdriver on the metal part of the back and not on the dove tail joint on the frame because when u hit it you have to knock the back loose from the frame. If someone isnt holding that grommet back its difficult to get ur screwdriver over far enough to where you are not hitting the frame but once you hit that back metal a couple times it should break that bond they have. Also dont pull one side all the way out of dove tail and then try to pull other side out. Doing it like that will cause the one side to get bound up so try to hold both grommets in at the same time and pull up and forward like he does in the video. Hope that helps

The one thing not shown in the video is how to remove the seat from the bottom plastic mounts. Anyone has a video or a article with photos showing how to do that?

I used a flat bar push under the grommet (pushing grommet a side) then leaver it upwards to disengage the wedge. W When disengaged push the seat from behind up and forward.
