In 1968 I received an Aria Classical guitar for Christmas. I was 12 years old and had been taking lessons for two years. The last song at the end of the 3rd Hal Leonard book was El Choclo… I played this (though not nearly as perfect or arranged like this) for a crowd of several hundred to a piano accompaniment from my teacher who gave me free guitar lessons as long as I didn’t quit trumpet(lol).. I still have this guitar and have recently revived playing it. Thank you for this beautiful expression of classical music. It takes me back and newly inspires me to play.

El CHoclo (also known by or meaning ----corn on the cob ( el elote ) this melody has to be a little to the old side . I was but a young lad around - 4 - 5 yrs old at the time my folks would gather with uncles and aunts to play their instruments ( guitars, sax, piano, trumpet, violin, you name it ) I'll be 71yrs in a month but this song took me back 65 - 66 yrs back when life was about a dream. in 2 min.
