El Condor Pasa and Lan Huahua | 2025 CMG Spring Festival Gala

The Spring Festival Gala is always a stage for recreating the classics. This duet brings together two of the most beloved folk songs in Peru and China: El Condor Pasa and Lan Huahua.
The piece is presented by Chinese singer Zhou Shen and Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez. The two distinct musical instruments accompanying them are the Suona, central to operas and folk songs of Shaanxi Province, and the Peruvian pan flute, integral to Andean folk music.
Similar to El Condor Pasa, the Chinese folk song Lan Huahua is an ode to bravery and free spirit. It sings of a young woman who pursued her true love against all odds.
