well we're not exactly hollywood my friend but this is a very well made film. if we can handle watching harry potter 1,2,3,4,5 and 6, we definetely can handle watching this great effort made for an impressive artist like el greco. the movie is amazing. u should all see it.

the trailer music is created and recorded by "Lyrae Cantus", the most known of the medieval & renaissance music ensembles of Greece, which has also recorded the rest of the renaissance music of the film plus two renaissance-feeling pieces by Vangelis for the film too.

I agree, this is not common for Vangelis, but the score of El Greco (not to be confused with the 1995 and 1998 CD's with the same name) is allmost complete: most of the cues in the film is on the CD. To be complete: it is called "El Greco" the label is Universal, it's cat. no. is 060 251 760 670 8 and it is released in a black digipack (1997)

Actually, it is a Spanish/Greek/Hungarian movie. And Greek people ARE European, so why distinguish them from each other as if they're separate groups?

Dudo que El Greco sintiera esos arrebatos sentimentales que Vd. se complace en imaginar. Es mucho más probable que fuera la urgencia de dinero lo que le inclinara a trasladarse a Toledo tras su poco éxito en la Corte de Madrid. A Felipe II le gustó su trabajo, pero era demasiado atrevido para su idea de la religiosidad. El Greco se vio en la necesidad de buscar urgentemente nuevos encargos, y tuvo la suerte de que en Toledo, el espíritu de la ciudad conectara bien con su idea del arte.

En cuanto a lo de "primer genio de la pintura española", se me hace un poco difícil de aceptar. Seguramente Vd. desconoce a Alonso de Berruguete, Vicente Masip, Juan de Juanes, Yáñez de la Almedina, Luis de Morales, Navarrete el Mudo, etc....

La historia que cuenta la película es, sencillamente, un invento ridículo. Una biografía verdaderamente histórica hubiera sido más eficaz y más digna de la memoria del gran pintor que este confuso manifiesto (¿cómo definirlo, amoroso, libertario o, simplemente, estúpido?) indesdifrable en su vaciedad, pergeñado por una fantasía adolescente.
