I think there really are no law against covering songs. In the 80's Sinnead O'Connor covered Prince's song even though Prince didn't allow it but Sinnead didn't get in trouble. Prince still owns the right of the song and gets money everytime it gets played.

I think this would fall under the fair use laws under parody. I suppose the problem is in that the Scorpions would propably just throw an endless horde of blood-thirsty lawyers at the old boys. Woulda done nothing wrong, but law bends when you throw enough money at it. At the very least, they'd have to waste money and time in the court beyond reason.

Oh the original is lame is it...? Seriously, go listen to your Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers CDs. The idea to make such parody songs like this is nothing new and this song isn't very original. Scorpions was, and still is something original. This song isn't that bad but I value the original version over this one, and this song wouldn't exist if there was no original Wind of Change
