A few of you have been complaining about the lyrics. I did not use the lyrics that most of the websites have posted for this song as they did not look right to me. Yes, I know they come from the booklet that was released with the album and are technically "official" but that does not always mean they are 100% correct. I went by multiple live performances on KZbin and listened by ear to end up with what I got. As it turns out, Damon Albarn messes his own lyrics up pretty often. If you are one of the people who wants the "official" version, there is another video almost identical to this one floating around that uses the lyrics you prefer.

kyle Kulick According to the Gorillaz story line that is the meaning. How,ever all of the songs have deeper meaning to society and life. El Manana roughly translates to 'the day' or 'the morning' The song is about depression from a loss of some sort. And the pursuit of happiness after said loss.

this reminds me of the days that leave me crying every day including the day my best friend...Krono died. he was my only friend yet he was a dog he loved me and at that time i thought love kept him alive...he died of cancer and heart problems i spent the next 2-4 days just crying. to the point i was dying (litteraly) i was starving and dying of dehydration but i couldnt help crying or getting up, on the 5th day my mom got tired of hearing me cry over a dog and slapped me which made me cry for another 2 days the other part was when well.one christmas day i heard some bad news. my father and mother had been badly injured in a car crash. 2 days later i heard even worse news. they died eventually i learned how they died. apparently 2 foot long pieces of glass pierced their heart leaving them bleeding out
