Next time put the mic CLOSER to their mouth! When people talk with a strong accent, like the guy with the beard, background noise makes it so much harder to understand everything he's saying.

Went here back in 2006-7 ish, this place wasn't here, there was only one "camp" and that term was used loosely. When I arrived, the surf was pumping 8-10 double overhead but it wasn't holding it super well, I think the angle was closing out this sandbar but day or 2 later and swell backed off and jt sections started opening up right out front. I was the only guy out there other than this local teenager who ripped. Surfed there his whole life and had it locked in. Great spot, hope it doesn't turn into a Jaco but I do hope the village can thrive from a burst in tourism without selling it out to to harshly.

Unfortunately is now one of the hottest spots in the Guatemalan Pacific buying property there is now outrageously expensive

@@fabycasasola9088 that's a tough one. On one hand, it's helping the local economy and quality of life for locals. Other hand, im sure local shopkeeps, biz owners have shut down as a result, plus the genuine Guatemalan culture and life taught through generations of Guatemalan ancestry and way of life becomes compromised. Im glad to have experienced this village before the spike in industry and tourism.

I visited Guatemala in nov. first time there. I went to a beach called champerico. I loved it but there were no hotels or overnight accommodations. I would like to visit paredon next time. what do you recommend for overnight stays with families?

Thanks for the vid. Any restaurant options within walking distance? No matter how small?

Yeah absolutely! If you don't want to eat at the Driftwood, there's an Asian-ish place 100 meters away called Soul Food. A few blocks away there's a brick oven pizza place I think called Pacifico? And a few different places dotted here and there. The town is small, pretty much everything is walking distance.

Dirty? Explain "dirty". That could mean a million different things. Are you a germaphobe? Was there garbage all around? Please clarify.

Hey nice Video 🤙 Is there a possibility to buy a surfboard on El Paredon?
@JoeSpinstheGlobe

Hmmm there is no "surf shop" that i know of, so i don't think you could find a new one. There's lots of rental and used boards around you could probably buy though.
