Thanks for the thoughtful video lovely Laura. I think this attitude stems from a lack of clarity regarding strategy and expectation in relation to the goal that is being pursued. When people adopt the attitude of “all or nothing”, they do so because they are afraid of not succeeding, of being seen as a failure. So they set a high standard for themselves in order to be very successful. I believe that a realistic approach is to have a minimum and a maximum goal (daily, weekly, monthly,etc) that will keep us on track. Success is not always guaranteed but we can maximise our chances by having a clear and effective strategy 👍

Exactly, I see it as you do. It is better to do a bit than "doing nothing cause I am not going to be able to do all I want anyway". At the end of the day whether you are successful or not is relative too, cause if your definition of success is "being the best", well, your chances are slim, but if you define success as saying "I do my best with the resources I have and achieve XXX in YYY period of time", your chances are higher :) I have also learned that peace of mind is the most important thing for me, so if any of my goals take me to a greater success but I am so stressed that I can not even enjoy it, it is not worth it...

Hola Laura, tinc aquesta mateixa sensació amb los hobbies, digues-ne el pádel. Trobo que la gent es massa competitiva, doncs es dificil fer-ho només per placer. Merci y salutacions des de Madrid!

Exacte, jo amb els anys m'he adonat que quan jugava a bàsquet de petita era massa competitiva. Només m'ho passava bé si "ho feia bé", si perdíem o jo feia molts errors, m'enfadava. I crec que s'ha d'aprendre a gaudir de les aficions independentment si "ets bo" o no :)

Obrigada :D Et copio l'altre missatge que t'he deixat en un altre vídeo: Hi ha cursos en línia, per exemple, a www.parla.cat "Easy Catalan" té vídeos i un podcast també, pots fer clases en línia, per exemple, amb italki (tinc un descompte a la descripció del vídeo)... Si vius a Catalunya, hi ha molts cursos per fer. I és clar, també pots fer servir els meus vídeos i el meu podcast :)

Hej Laura! Do you use AI in your language learning? I'm currently learning French and Arabic and I find myself using Bing Chat a lot to ask questions related to languages. Anything for how to conjugate a verb to explain differences in uses between two words. Det vore intressant att höra vad du tycker!

Hej, tack för din kommentar :) I am a little bit "old fashioned" when it comes to technology, it always takes me forever to try out new stuff. I am the kind of person who bought their first smart phone after 2-3 years hahaha So I have not really tried it yet. I use Deepl a lot as a translation tool, but that is about it. I do not think it qualifies as AI though. I sure need to try it out, but have been too lazy til now to be honest hehe :)

Laura, sóc un puto un puto desastre, que porto treballant 2 anys a Leipzig i no passo de l‘A2 d‘alemany. L‘entenc prou bé, això sí. Clar, es que casi parlo més el català aquí que a Barcelona (tinc una senyora gran de veïna que el parla i tot!). Salutacions des de Saxònia!

A mi em va ajudar molt arribar amb un nivell ja alt a Alemanya. El problema quan ets principiant és que tothom et parla en anglès i estàs potser més insegur quan intentes parlar alemany. Et podries buscar un tàndem o posar-te reptes. El que va molt bé també és veure vídeos (adaptats al teu nivell) a diari per anar millorant. Crec que hi ha una sèrie adaptada que es diu Nicos Weg o una cosa així. Espero que et resulti útil, ànims! :)
