Can you still walk up to the crator? i visited Tenerife when i was a kid...some 25 years ago, and can remember walking to the crator and steam escaping out of small vents, and then at the top the creator was steaming too. Loved it!

@natman77 Yes there is one, if you go there you can get a map at tour info. But if you want to climb up to the summit, you need permission from the authorities. There are some employees at 3555 to stop you and ask for your paper. If you have it, you can visit the 3718 m point. 3555 is not bad either, these footages were taken from there.

Hi Great video what settings/grading did you use.

Hello there! It is a 12 year old footage recorded with a Panasonic SD-600. I used the standard picture profile and added just a bit of more saturation and contrast in Sony Vegas. It is really old and I would not use so long cuts anymore, today I find this video really boring 😅

Thank you@@C16Q5E I have had a love affair with the SD 900 over the years. Every time I sold them I instantly regretted it. I used a pair for interviews. Sold my last pair in 22 and went for a pair of osmo pocket 2's. Great little cameras. But nowhere near the usability of the SD900 for interviews. Really loved the look of your video, so thanks for the tips, the sd has much more cinematic feel to it. So I have already got another ebay sd 900 and a sd600. Which I believe has the same internals so will use that for b-roll. I'll sell one of the pocket 2's and keep one for 4k work and out and about. Not too difficult to colour match. Thanks Tony

You can walk up yes, you need permission from the local authorities to the very top. But the point most turists see is where you see the crator too, but when I was there I didn't see steam but smelled strange.

2:08 This is not Gran Canaria, La Gomera is.

First time when I went there, I also thought so. I asked a Spanish guy there if it was La Gomera, and he said it was Gran Canaria. Then he told me to go to the opposite side of the observation area, where you can see a board with the image of the three islands (La Gomera, El Hierro, La Palma), they are pretty much together. You can see some clouds in the distance at 2:30, well those are the small islands together. There is a crater in the foreground, which you wouldn't be able to see without looking to the west. The summit is east from this crater, so it makes it obvious, what you are looking at. So please trust me, I checked it before rendering the video.

Ahhh prob health & safety stopped public going to the very top! yes it smells of sulphur. i can remember a camera man taking pictures of the crator and his tri-pod and all his equipment fell in the crator and the plastic melting lmao. must go back to Tenerife...bet its changed alot.
