@@rcthomas6925 This is not my own comment, but I asked for permission to use it: "Not to mention that FloJo was quietly banned from the sprint events after the 1988 Seoul Olympics because of PEDs. FloJo's last competitive sprint race was a 100m race in Tokyo Japan, in October 1988, 1 week after the Seoul Olympics. In February 1989, she announced her "retirement" from the sprint events, to focus on the 5K, the 10K, and the marathon. Seriously, who ever heard of any sprinter moving up to the middle distances and the marathon. Also, FloJo for all her glamor was never hired to do color commentary for any media network. Because they all knew she got busted in Seoul, and probably in exchange for keeping her records, she "retired" from the sport. Her times need to be expunged, just like Marion Jones' times, and for the same reasons."

The wind was blowing side ways and not blowing to assist her forward motion. It was also found to be within the legal limit. Flo Jo had a congenital brain abnormality which caused her epileptic seizure at times. She valued her health, hard work, her good character. There are no question marks around Flo Jo's world record. The windometer official reading was legal and anecdotal reports of 'it was a bit windy' from suspicious people hold no water. She never failed a drug test. Flo Jo's WR is entirely legal. She remains the fastest woman sprinter EVER. Flo Jo was the real deal. The commentator here is obviously heavily biased and willing to push the unsubstantiated drug conspiracy theory.
@biblicalfitness1838 Жыл бұрын
False. FloJo's drug dealer went public about FloJo purchasing $2000 worth of growth hormone at a time when USADA had not yet started testing for growth hormone. FloJo and Carl Lewis were taking same performance-enhancers, which they received them from the same "doctor", before going on to set world-record times. USADA then announced they would begin testing for human growth hormone, forcing FloJo to retire from sprinting and switch to running marathons. FloJo had a high-pitched, feminine voice at the beginning of her track career. After setting world records, FloJo had excessive facial hair, a mustache, and a deep man's voice. FloJo also had an enlarged heart from all of the performance-enhancers she ingested and died of heart failure at age 34. When asked why she chose to "bite the bullet" and begin taking growth hormone, FloJo admitted that she wasn't fast enough to win naturally, saying, "It's worth spending $2,000 to make a million."
