I first visited San Pedro in 2006 as an 18-year-old with a church group, and ended up staying at the El Hogar children's orphanage for almost two months. During my time there, I became great friends with our driver, who later started traveling to the U.S. (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania) to buy shipping containers and collect cargo from families in the tri-state area to send back to their loved ones in Honduras. I would help him every time he came to the U.S. Before San Pedro, I had also been to Tegucigalpa in 2002, shortly after Hurricane Mitch devastated much of Central America. I've been wanting to return for almost 20 years but unfortunately just haven't made the time. hondurans are very warm and welcoming for the most part. its a shame with all the crime within the country they get a bad wrap

Fried chicken in delicious specially in Honduras, when you get a chance try Pollo Chuco. I was just there on 05/08 on vacation, loved it. My country is beautiful enjoy it you just need to be aware of your surroundings..

Yes they teamed up with the Spanish and fought the British and were never enslaved. Very wonderful people and culture.
