Excellent video, very informative. I especially liked 3:49 where the gentleman showed the precise angle to view your results from. Great work!

Awesome video, its exactly what I was looking for. Which test method is this from if I may ask?

Hi, Thank you for the kind words! The test methods used in this video are from the ASTM, Delta 1210 standards. This is the standard test method for dispersion of pigment/ vehicle systems by Hegman Gauge.

Hi, would you say the result is more d(90) or d(50)
@ElcometerOfficialChannel3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. This gauge is designed to indicate the size of particle within the paint and as we are unable to assess the number of particles we cannot assess particle size distribution and therefore ascribe a d-value to the reading. What we would suggest is that as there is less evidence of any coating once the prescribed 5 to 10 streaks are observed, then most of the particles can reasonably be assumed to be bigger than the value obtained, and hence we would suggest the reading is nearer to d(50) than d(90). @@ElcometerOfficialChannel Thank-you for your reply. I assumed it was closer to d50. 😀
