One of the biggest factors that harms your suspension of disbelief in this game is how none of the NPCs or lore ever mentions the Dragonbarrow cave-bear. That thing coulda had the whole Lands Between in its paws if it got out more.

Edit: I see you already looked into this yourself on the next episode A barrow isn't just graveyard, more specifically, it's a burial mound. the fact that there is no clearly marked or recognisable burial mound, to me, this implies one of two things (these are both pure speculation): Either, the strange 'barnacle-covered' hills/rock formations are burial mounds of sorts, or, the entire hill that Fort Faroth rests upon is in itself somehow the burial mound.

While it seems like fall damage and survival isn't consistent, it's always exactly the same on Torrent or off, if you aren't using an air shaft to jump. 16-20 meters you take damage. 20+ meters you die. It's just not easy to judge vertical distance when traversing different environmental features, and a a tiny difference in height can be the difference between surviving or not. It would be nice if that were counted from the second Torrent jump, but I can see how that would make environmental barriers between areas of the map too easy to cross where you're not meant to.

This always even trips me up, after like 4 or 5 different characters. I got used to other games that would restart the falling distance after the first jump that effectively keeps you from dying haha.

@@casitive I think the death distance is even the same as previous Souls games at 20m, but damage in Elden Ring starts further.

@@joshk494 Yeah, this is correct. Illusory Wall had a great video about it. Does not stop my Mirror's Edge or Destiny Muscle Memory to go "Oh double jump I can break a fall and not die." In Mirror's Edge's case it for a frame or two, puts a floor beneath your feet restarting your fall distance.

I commented last episode as well. Don't let anyone browbeat you for being "overleveled." There is really no such thing in Elden Ring...Miyazaki made sure of it. You have MANY bosses coming mid-game and late that you will feel like..."what else can I do...Jesus I have to drop a house on them". I remember I thought I was as well as I have played all FromSoft games, then it was like...OK I'm level 300...can they really be this tough still? The answer is yes. Akin to upper Latria.." now have audience with real game"

Sorry, friend! Here's an overview of my current approach to releasing episodes: At minimum, I am releasing one episode per week. This means that you can always expect an episode on Saturday (currently at 2pm Eastern). Beyond that, if I've built up a large enough backlog of episodes, it will be a two-episode week. Until today, two-episode weeks were Saturday-Sunday, but I thought I would try Saturday-Wednesday this week to see whether it might be better to space them out. Next week, you can probably expect another two episodes, and I'm currently leaning towards releasing the second episode on Wednesday. Does that clarify my schedule a bit better?
