Just as we exit the chapel of Anticipation, we are given a glimpse of the final battle. Radagon standing guard next to the gate that leads to Marika (theElden Ring) and a difficult fight happening in front of her, that right now we are too weak to even dare it. There is a statue of Marika on top of the gate that bestows grace, which we are going to have to gather in order to become strong enough to enter and have a chance. We just don't realize what it is we are seeing and being told at that point in the game.

OMG, I’ve played Elden Ring and DLC many times, read all item descriptions repeatedly, and watched dozens of hours of Lore analysis on KZbin, and I still learned new things from this video. Great work, man! 👍

I have read the Catch Flame description many times but never had put it together that prophets of the official religion were not just ostracised because the fire, in general, is anathema to the tree-worshipping cult, but precisely because they glimpsed the strange (and from the point of the Two Fingers who do not yet know about the impenetrable thorns probably unnecessary) act of burning down the Errdtree. 2. Never noticed that the hooded statues were newer than the other structures in the vicinity. 3. That Grafted Scions are actually of the Golden Lineage, so they are not just victims of Godrick’s grafting experiments; they are his descendants, relatives, and maybe children. 4. That it was already alluded to so early in the game that Two Fingers and Golden Order are not aligned, and whatever Fingers wants, Grace wants, and Golden Order wants could be two or even three different things. 5. That Melina saved your life at the Stranded Graveyard; now I wish even more that the content where refusing Melina’s offer was the real choice and Varre was supposed to bring you to the Roundtable Hold to level-up was not cut from the game. It would be really cool if you were nudged to accept Melina’s offer by your own choice, not because pushed by developers, but because you were kinda indebted to her for saving your life earlier. Would be much more... graceful.

Not sure if you are gonna allow "spoiler"-questions in the comments but I wanted to ask what your thoughts are regarding Marikas crucifixion pose: Her pose is very reminiscent to how we find her imprisoned inside the Erdtree but all these sculptures and churches are way older then her imprisonment right? Also no one except Radagon would be even aware what is really happening inside the Erdtree so no one could see this pose in that context. Furthermore the sculptures in the Lands of Shadow and Stakes of Marika have a slightly different pose? Is this supposed to symbolize how Marika started to lose faith or how godhood started weighing down on her? Also what does the cloth/pattern behind her represent in your opinion? I have seen many different theories (snake skin, Spiral/Crucible, simply a Velificatio like for Roman Gods) but I'm not sure

I’ll only answer with information from what we’ve learned so far! For full discussion ask on Discord! As we learned with the Prophet class, the Golden Order religion puts a lot of stock in those who can tell the future, so much so that they will punish those who see the Flame of Ruin in their visions. So, whoever made those statues must be someone who is familiar with predicting the future. Maybe we will learn who that is later in the playthrough :)

You got a lot of fans here. I too enjoy your content but can't help but notice the change. The last video was creative but certainly not in depth. Now your don't play throughs? I personally prefer your academic style lore dives.

I have written about 4+ hours worth of scripts but I am trying to be as accurate as possible with my videos, causing me to write more and get sidetracked. Elden Ring is so interconnected that when writing about one topic its hard not to dip into other topics - so while I have been struggling writing these scripts I started this play through series - replaying the game helps the writing process. I hope I can get a typical video out soon, but there is just so much to write about that it's been very difficult. Some others who make videos have been complaining that the lore doesn't make sense and there is nothing to talk about, I am having the opposite problem.
