It‘s not about cheating for me, I just don’t like when aggro gets split and the healthbar gets buffed on my first experience. Weirdly I personally prefer this fight without Igon, his voice lines get aggravating after a while, though I appreciate the story itself behind it. I also find the fight feels better solo on most builds.

Watching this boss battle without a HUD was a real treat. When I fought and defeated Bayle earlier today, I had my eyes laser focused on my health/fp bars and the boss’s bar, trying to just stay alive and striking when I could. Doing that, you lose sight of just how epic these Elden Ring boss battles are, particularly this one. Seeing the battle presented cinematically in this video reminded of that, and of the incredible journey I’ve had both in the base game and now the dlc. Thanks Veloketh for a great video!

Congrats for defeating him, he surely is a challenge, and thank you so much for this comment! Adrenaline and tension run high in these hard boss fights and require lots of concentration, so sometimes we just lock in with a kind of tunnel vision. I had a similar feeling with my first win against Malenia, so it’s been nice making these videos for others (and myself) to just sit back and enjoy the spectacle of a boss they enjoy. I’m currently on my second run and I’m already looking forward to do no HUD Consort Radahn. Better fight without igon in my unpopular opinion, the voice acting is great but I feel like facing bayle head on instead of him constantly looking away just adds to the overall cinema. Plus igon makes the fight too easy, without him you feel the full extent of bayles moveset when its entirely focused on you.

it’s kinda like with the Radahn festival, it’s an amazing experience and I will definitely try both but I still enjoy the fight more if it’s just me vs the boss. I like that my first time defeating bayle was all on my own so now I can enjoy it either way on replays

@@Veloketh yeah when I first fought bayle I had igon summoned and while I did love the energy he brought, fighting bayle head on later just felt so exhilarating and intense, it made me appreciate the fight itself more than I did before. Same with radahn. I feel fighting with the summons is an awesome experience but for different reasons.
