@@the_cusp3 I hear ya. Besides following vid walkthroughs for every quest or how to get to sites of grace I hadn't discovered I've also researched every mini and main boss before fighting them. This is the most researched game I've ever played bar none. Only after finishing the game around level 400+ and some 950+ hours in I now generally free roam.

Those are two different types of players. Chances are that the players who kill the merchants won't really give a shit about Boggart and the ones who leave NPCs alive would probably try to keep Boggart alive.

Be careful When approaching Bogart in Altus plateau, because there is a crab near him that uses death blight. I found this out the hard way.

Don't know if this helps -- but I did the quest where I got the necklace back off this dude. Wasn't in the mood for prawns -- so I didn't buy any and then I didn't think twice about him. Started your Dung Eater guide to the point where you said it breaks Bogg's quest. I was like: "Who's Boggart?" Found this guide. So I didn't go back to the Roundtable hold to read the white message -- I instead went to the water spot where Bogg was supposed to be. His dead body was there -- but I couldn't interact with it. Dung Eater invaded and I cut him loose the mortal coil. I then went back to the crab shack and Boggart was there -- surprised to find him alive -- I talked to him and bought prawns. I then went to the area where I fought Dung Eater. Bogg's there selling the crab legs and all that -- we had a long talk about Dung Eater and then I went back to the Roundtable. Dung Eater was there in person -- talked to him and went down into the sewer and fed him his lunch and got the medallion doodad -- reloaded and went back and got his armor. Went back to Bogg and he's still selling crab like I didn't see an alternate reality where he was holding his entrails in his lap. Didn't get his armor or bell bearing -- not sure if murdering him would give me them both -- or just the bell bearing. Like I said -- not sure if this helps -- but at least it's possible to do it wildly out of order and still get SOME of the stuff. Plus infinite crab legs by the beach instead of the back room of a castle. Shout outs to Marshmallow.

Hey, just a bit of a tid bit. If you skip the grand lift of dectus and go through that ravine, BGB is actually one of two people that will put a sign down to help you with the boss at the end. The other is the guy that patches asks you to kill for volcano manor.

@@Tallborn5 Yeah, actually ran into that by accident, but to be fair getting Millicent to this point actually requires you to jump ahead to llendeyll and that annoying as hell swamp castle with the cleanrot knights yo get her prosthetic, so unless you're back tracking for bosses and questlines, she's not normally going to appear here unless you give her a prosthetic you have from a previous playthrough. But she's well worth it though all the same considering she can either be a tank, or a damn ninja depending on which one you give her.

In Lyndell if you have the grace that goes down to an area with the greatbow archer in front of you who targets you as soon as you go through the door, take a left and if you pay attention, the well to the sewers is just over the railing further down passed the buildings.

According to the wiki there is a way to complete this quest where you can buy Prawns from him right away and still keep him alive if you want. To quote: "Alternatively, you can save Boggart by aggroing him at the Leyndell moat before freeing the Dung Eater in his cell. Once you have defeated the Dung Eater during his invasion and you have fed Dung Eater's corporeal body Seluvis's Potion and/or killed him in his cell (in which you can do both to obtain the Dung Eater Puppet and the Omen Set simultaneously), head to the Church of Vows to absolve your sin and make Boggart friendly again. You will miss out the Seedbed Curse and Boggart's item drops, but Boggart will be alive and he continues to sell prawns to you as usual."

This is not the end of the quest. After going to roundtable you can speak to him again there and then find him where you found him underground in the capital and curse him

I met bogart, gave him a chance, though he was chill, then I met dungeater, found the curse, immediately talked with him, then tracked him down and put him down for good without progressing his horrible quest thus sparing Bogarde and still giving me all the rewards you normally get

So, I bought back Rya's necklace from Boggart early on as you're supposed to and then I left him by the Shack until way later, until after I was invaded by Dung Eater at the outer moat. However, I was stull able to get Boggart to move afterwards, and it seems like his just going to stay alive and well, save from the Dung Eater. Just thought I would mention it out in case someone out there can't live without his shellfish.

You can still do Dung Eaters quest though. You just won’t get the seedbed curse from this guy. There are 6 others in the game though and you just need 5 for Dung Eaters quest. You also won’t get unlimited boiled crabs or prawns though :/

Reaching Altus Plateau is how Boggart moves it doesn't matter which way.

You can avoid the Dectus Lift, you can go through a dungeon and kill a trophy boss and after that you will be in Altus Plateau too

That is an alternative end to the quest. There are other seedbed curses to get so don’t worry too much. If you still want his set you can attack and defeat him but what sort of monster would do that? Lol

You can save Boggart by aggroing Dung Eater in his gaol, you won't be able to do his quest, meaning he won't attack Boggart :D
