Lmao elden ring was my first souls game and when I finished tutorial I immediately felt like I should try things out so I attacked varre, died 10 times, eventually ran to the tree sentinel and died like an idiot and got pissed for a day. The reason why it made Game Of The Year is because while everyone else is making remakes of old classics......Elden Ring stood out as the one game, the whole year, that was somewhat new and had something refreshing to offer. The controllers, the types of games EVERYTHING, is still the same as the Dual Shock PS1 FROM 1998,......NOTHING HAS CHANGED....just more memory, more pixels, more resolution....but it's still essentially nothing different than we've seen in the past 20 years. Elden ring was a great game but it's essentially a beefed-up, awesome dark souls that ran off the same engine just matching today's specifications. Lol. I'm a gamer since 1983 and I still say that it's time for the gaming industry to evolve already because the last 25 years have been the same DualShock controller the same BS just better graphics. We're still using a console in the TV. Nothing is changed whatsoever
