If you look carefully, Maria has a sprint where she becomes invisible and covers much more distance than a run but she uses this technique only a few times. All the bosses practically have it, some more, some less.

The only real problem with Lady Maria in Elden Ring is two things with her AI: She's meant for a much smaller arena than Elden Ring is used to, and her AI doesn't register projectiles the way it does in Bloodborne, so she'll just tank them instead of trying to dodge at least some of them

Even though I was disappointed in maria's AI, it was an entertaining watch, think the problem the AI had was closing distance as her arena is fairly tiny compared to ER arenas, but one of the best runs ive seen!

She was designed to punish player aggression. Even back when she was only fighting Bloodborne enemies in these videos, ranged opponents would massacre her. A lot people have a misconception that she is really fast, but she never was. She's a slow glass cannon with low poise that punishes players by hitting extremely hard with hyper armored attacks that get consecutively harder to dodge due to splash damage. If you use range weapons or learn how to parry her, she and the Orphan of Kos, become some of the easiest bosses in Bloodborne and all of Soulsborne. They will at least be leagues easier than if you try to footsie with them.

Was beautiful to see Morgott and Maria entering the second phase at the same time 9:54, both cursed using powers that they themselves disowned, giving their all in a deadly battle, one cursed by a power of blood and life that he rejected and another cursed by the blood that she once worshipped and now pays for a sin she committed to a village years ago. I even find it respectful the way Maria looks at the body of Morgott, an opponent she respects even in death.

Gosh, The sharks in the well are the hardest Boss in the game dude. Whenever I used the Shamon bone blade all their attacks missed each other so they just went back to killing me.

In my opinion what you should have also modded in for Maria is a bleed effect for her phase 2 so that she can take advantage of the blood that's on her blades in phase 2 as well as in her phase 3 her damage shifts to Bloodflame since she doesn't have a cutscene to shift phases like ER bosses and shes a sitting duck and unlike Morgott and Godric when during their shift in phases their get an 80% damage reduction to keep them-self alive while transitioning, that should have been given to Maria... it's a little unfair she has to sit there and take backshots at full or even crit damage level and then after transition all she gets is a damage buff but no added effects like Mohg and his weapon after transition he does bloodflame, she should have had that... later bosses it would help her damage... also bosses that could be parried, you should have let her gun function like it does in Bloodborne and let her parry bosses with it. That is my critizism on the video, other than that pretty good.

Lady Maria scaling to Morgott sounds about right. He's the last boss that doesn't have the power of a god or over a concept itself, like Maliketh and death. Orphan Of Kos will be interesting.

The most exciting thing about these bosses is that it, over time, would REALLY help fix Elden Ring’s biggest issue - the amount of reused bosses. I mean, imagine if every Evergaol was a callback to a boss from earlier in the Souls series? Super cool work you’re doing. I know it’s probably not being planned, but releasing these as something more modular would be a HUGE help to the community. Having a sort of repository of older bosses that players could put into their mods. It would be a huge help to the community overall.

Now I see Morgott and people related to Godfrey have significant moves they share Morgott does his jumping attack like Godfrey does with his axe and Layandell army does the same stomps as him though not powerful enough to make earth crumble into rocks. Amazing video even if Lady Maria's design really couldn't stand up to the ER boss design philosophy of float like a butterfly, sting like a truck. I think the poise break of previous videos may have put her on a bit more equal footing by allowing her to get proper hits in, but seeing her beat the early bosses without resorting to blood felt very nice so that was worth it

It would be useless, the problem is that Maria's AI is adapted to bloodborne and a small room. She has a handicap in every possible thing.

She can be easily stunned as well. Her battle is made for you to use as much parry as possible. To make things more fair, the battle would have to take place in a smaller area like the one she fights and they would have to mod her AI to dodge and use her gun to stun enemies like she originally does, but I'm sure that's very hard to accomplish. ​@@su_patatita_1951

Yeah Rennala basically predicted the entire video. Maria does not do well against enemies that swerve further and further away from the primarily melee with supplements fighting style of the hunter. Assuming she can get in close range and can KEEP it without being fucked over by spells like Mohg or Maliketh then she can kill them, but even then the enemies just got too much for her to handle as they scaled up. Hell, Gideo basically boiled it all down into nice package. If Bloodborne ever gets ported to PC it'd be fun to mod in some Elden Ring spells and ashes of war to see how much it breaks the game.

Everytime I see one of these vids im amazed at how good malenia does.. my first e.r. playthrough I said she is the strongest souls boss ever and I stand by that.. she just beat maria.. with no lifestyle ability....
