I think fromsoft at some point stated most people just download a mod for boss replay or use cheat engine so it waste of dev time/resources. Which is a shame cause I played a majority of time on console before I got my PC so I too prayed for a boss rush/replay for a while.

This reminds me of Majora's Mask. An alternate version of the previous game's world that is darker and filled with corruption. And you get three days to beat a major boss. Obviously the main difference being you don't get a song of time here.

This honestly just feels like a really high budget in house mod for elden ring. While I'd like to hear what Myazaki is working on it's cool to see that fromsoft is in a position that they can branch into other styles of gameplay.

with how yakuzas been churning out games (and good ones, at that) i think heavy asset reuse should become more standard in the industry. imagine how much money and time can be saved if one worldspace can be used for 3-5 games with some tweaks, remixes and maybe a genre change thrown in for variety.

my only real concern about it is that it's balanced for co-op but none of my friends play these types of games and I would likely either have to miss out or play solo. I guess it just depends on how hard it is when it launches. Other than that, this sounds like a dream come true for me. I LOVE roguelikes and I'm so excited to get to fight old Dark Souls series bosses without having to slog through some of the less fun parts of Dark Souls. Just from the stills theres these weird shadow people in the background on the horizon and a lot of new equipment. Can't wait, it's gonna be amazing.

Fromsoft is very good at trying new things and making them amazing first try. Bloodborne, sekiro, elden ring. As long as they have the freedom to experiment, they will never disappoint.

Great video as always cowboy 👏 Personally i have mixed feelings about the game: - it looks awesome and the concept can be absolute fun. - since i'm an offline guy, i feel like i'm not concerned at all which pisses me off. - if they use bosses and features from previous titles doesn't it feel like the swan song of the souls genre and FromSoft's shift towards a new genre which again pisses me off.

Considering they estimate each game cycle to take about 40mins I think it's safe to assume this is gonna be more rougelike. Plus the combat/movement seems to be taking things from sekiro and bloodborne (probably linked to specific classes) as well as what Ishizaki said about battle arts and abilities makes it seem like they'll be more prevalent than they were in ER.
