I know you're playing STR build on second game. I found Dex Faith or Strength faith to be one of most powerful. The buff spells and spells to cure rot and poison are amazing. Also lightning Spear for offense.

I'd recommend it definitely, just treat it with some stealth and watch out for alcoves and behind corners because there's an 80% chance there will be an almost undodgable ambush waiting for you.
