Was waiting for this one! Your excitement and enthusiasm for From games is infectious, James. Similarly I've been putting some huge time into this one since a little after it dropped. My big takeaway so far, I think, is the verticality and the richness of the map/world in the Shadow Realm. It feels like almost the entirety of the new map is up there with the best of what From has done previously, while also adding just an insane amount of interconnectedness and a thrilling sense of discovery

100% agree. I imagine we'll continue to discover secrets tucked away inside this landscape for the next few weeks. I pity From Software as they set out to try and surpass this game with whatever comes next, but I'll definitely be first in line no matter what game they decide to make.

Calling this a DLC is doing a disservice. This is outright an entire game. It’s like Elden Ring 1.5. Everything is so much better, especially the new bosses that are some of the best in the industry. FromSoftware yet again over exceed our already high expectations. God bless Lord Miyazaki.

God bless Lord Miyazaki indeed and I totally agree. This DLC is just as big and definitely more satisfying than recent games like The Lords of the Fallen (although I did enjoy that game and look forward to the sequel).

@@geekinwithJamesHancock Lords of the Fallen I heard mixed things about it, but I may give it a try some time in the future. One game I absolutely have to recommend to you is Lies of P. It’s a souls-like that’s so good that it feels like it was developed by FromSoft themselves. Really really can’t recommend it enough. It’s also unique from your traditional souls games and adds its own spin to the genre, which was a delight to play through.

Great video, couldn't agree more! Just finished it and it's definitely my favourite DLC ever. Have a sub 👊

Will there ever be a live-action Elden Ring movie or series, or should I banish such a thought from my head?

At this point From Software has given us so many incredible cinematics and cut scenes, I'm happy to just to watch them all in a row and luckily some maniacs have put those highlight reels together.

I've thought about it but if people saw how psycho I get when I'm dying over and over they would lock me up and throw away the key.

No DLC has one game of the Year, Witcher 3. DLC might have. Actually I don't know but I don't think so. I think it was a re-release with the DLC possibly? All I know is there is no debate about buying this. If you're thinking about buying it, just buy it.

Hell yes. I got humbled, bruised and battered initially but it makes the game so much more satisfying when the bosses finally go down.

There's actually been a few complaints it seems. Reviews on Steam are only mixed. I think people are finding out that builds they've painstakingly crafted are getting demolished haha. Should have anticipated better. Fromsoft are not going to be doing simple extensions of the same thing with the same pathways to success and failure. I hear blessings are key to the dlc but haven't dived in just yet (reviews have just moved up to mostly positive now btw).

I saw Yongyea's video on the mixed reviews complaining about the level of difficulty. I get it. When you think you're good at a game and an early boss curb stomps you 50 times, it is easy to go online and rage. But apparently the goal of this game was to challenge even high level players and I think over time even frustrated fans will see this game as the masterpiece that it is.

@@geekinwithJamesHancock it's actually not about the difficulty, it's the chinese and koreans complaining about easy anti cheat, if you check the local language reviews it's mostly positive.

I get the comment about not wanting to give it some money but pre-ordering fromsoft games that’s a bridge too far. I felt that way after Skyrim about Bethesda.

It makes me sad seeing Bethesda losing a step. Elder Scrolls III-V gave me so much damn joy but Starfield was just a mess. Hopefully they can bounce back with Elder Scrolls VI.

@@geekinwithJamesHancock absolutely! Hoping for a little more. I know Bethesda was SWEATING after Elden Ring was universally accepted despite its deep caveats that risk alienation from the wider player base…the one that Bethesda is aiming for. We aren’t stupid and even the ones that are, are willing to learn how to play a game if it is not a barren wasteland/starfield/tamriel
