Seeing you play consistently over such a long fight was amazing! This fight had me absolutely despondent, but watching you made me realize.. I may never win this one but at least I saw it done!

Thank you. It took so many tries to finally get the win haha. I think you can do it! Just keep running away and you'll find openings, the backhand blade weapon art is amazing when you're retreating and for this fight in general. Kill Hornsent ASAP he does so much damage but has low health and doesn't heal.

This was the most bullshit boss fight in the entire DLC to do solo. I spent over 3 hours before giving up and just using a katana bleed build. Seriously this is such a joke. Most of them have 15k HP and heal. Hornsent’s nuke also one shots you even at 20 blessings and 60 vigor!!!!! This is unironically the worst boss fight to do solo. I was having fun in the dlc until this shit, I will never complain about the DS2 gank squad fight because this is 1000x worse. I was so close to just summoning because they literally have 76k health combined! That’s more than Radahn! On top of that they can heal! I had to look for the Alberneric pot cookbook just to stop them from healing. PCR was way more enjoyable than this 1v5 gank fight. 76k HP???

It was very rough, if you don't get Freya and more importantly Hornsent out of the way early it's basically game over. When I finally got it I was really just glad it was over. Overall I loved the DLC but I really didn't like the implementation of summons. There's a few fights where you miss out on unique dialogue/ story because you do it solo. I didn't summon for Bayle so I missed out on Igon's dialogue during the fight which seems to be a highlight for many people who played through the DLC. In this fight I think it's obvious to say you're meant to summon and the fight is probably much more fun if you do, but like you I prefer to do things solo at least on the first playthrough. Again, if you don't summon you miss out on unique dialogue and interactions between the characters. I feel given the fight is an invasion it would have been better to just have your allies automatically invade themselves rather than putting solo players in a situation where they either have to summon or bash their head against a wall in a long frustrating fight. With regards to their huge combined HP for me it comes to something I really prefer about Dark Souls compared to Elden Ring. In Dark Souls every single weapon is viable, of course some are better than others but you can realistically beat the game with any weapon and without applying multiple buffs before/during the fight. Sometimes in Elden Ring with a maxed out weapon it feels like the bosses health bar is barely moving.

@@stutgames4964 omg yeah I didn’t summon at all and had no idea why people kept saying “curse you bayle” I thought a streamer said it or something turns out it was for Igon lol. But yeah if they made it so summon heavy they should had just made it so they automatically join you

This is the most impressive Leda fight I've seen! Moderate DPS and a long and tough 1v3 after dispatching of Freyja and Hornsent. This is the worst nightmare scenario and you've survived it somehow, that's crazy! PS: If you ever want to do this challenge again (for god knows what reason lmao), I have a good tip for NPCs like Leda (also Freyja etc). When you see her sprinting towards you, did you know she's programmed to do a running attack? Here's the problem: If you move away from her while she's still in the sprinting animation, she will suddenly do a random move and mess up your parry. Fortunately you can prevent this randomness: by jogging towards her while she's sprinting. Now she'll always do a running attack and you can parry with perfect consistency. I suspect this works against all NPCs that can be parried, but I wasn't able to test it against all of them. Anyway, that was a brilliant fight! You did almost the same build that I tried but I wasn't able to survive the 1v3. I used RoB and parry, that worked for me. But you've figured it out, and I swear it's super impressive to watch! I'm so happy to see that this strategy actually works :)

Thank you! I couldn't tell you how many times I died trying this. It was such a relief when only Moore was left haha. That's a great tip about the running attacks, I had never picked up on it. Now that you mention it I think that probably explains the behaviour of Freyja and Leda. I was confident with Freyja but not Leda, I was still mostly on retreat with her. Wish I'd known because that particular running attack with the light great sword is not too bad to parry. If I did do it again I think it's important to be more aggressive with Dryleaf. Because he gets so close he can cause the camera to go almost over head which can mess up your directional inputs which means he'll get a few free hits on you and if Leda decides to attack at that time, you're probably dead. When Leda hangs back and because he needs to get so close, I think going straight at him with R1s would get rid of him much quicker.

@@stutgames4964 So true, I noticed the same thing with Dryleaf Dane, he likes to be volatile like that. But you managed very well, you stayed calm and kept steering the ship in the storm. Impressive skills :)

I was playing super cautious for dryleaf and leda. I'd start parrying Leda way sooner if I did it over.

You have my respect. Don’t think I can do this though, I’ll have to resort to summons…
@stutgames4964Ай бұрын
Thanks, honestly the fight seems like it's more fun when summoning the two allies.

Yeah, it's not much fun solo. It's probably alright with the summons.
