This enemy is an absolute menace. A few months ago I tested fighting specifically sword and board Crucible Knights with several weapons found early and in Limgrave, both light and heavy. I found that the only things that consistently worked without risking getting hit were: - rolling R1s from Colossal Swords after avoiding an attack - fast attacks from light weapons (like Straight/Curved sword R1s and non-charge R2s) Anything else and you had a high likelihood of getting hit, even by attacks started after you started your attack, even if you positioned yourself well. And of course, parrying worked the best. It's like Gwyn! Only this enemy hardly ever staggers.

You are absolutely right, I find that staggering him with a parry is the best option, im trying to parry all of the parryable bosses in my playthrough which will be interesting 😂 With this crucible knight in particular you can’t see what im really doing until the end but after each parry he uses 1 of 3 options, he’ll either go into his stomp and then enter a slash and slice/poke string or he’ll do a diagonal slice and try to go in for a little jogging side slice or he will just do a slow slice I learned that backing up from him negates the foot stomp while giving breathing room to parry his options if you bait them out correctly in which walking backwards usually works because he is programmed to murder you for panicking (I learned this the hard way 😂)

For parries, I thought that it was always helpful to watch the enemy's arm, not their weapon, to get the timing right... Cleanly done! It's good to know how to deal with these guys.

That's a crazy good level though :O I think i was level 33 when I beat him, I know I'm only level 33 or so right now. I like being under levelled for some bosses though because it can be quite the exhilarating experience!
