the orchestra was indeed very different this year. they even used the same gow theme from 2018 though they couldve used the ragnarok theme but it's okay overall. Elden Ring's was so good but it was a little unrecognizable to me.

It's not a bad game, but it does not deserve neither the praise, nor money I paid for it on steam with discount. And it is definitely not good enough to buy ps and integrate in the disgusting Sony ecosystem.

Ragnarok is the standard, single player experience and video game design perfected. Elden Ring redefined what an open-world RPG game should be. Ragnarok is the best of the traditional style of game design, whereas Elden Ring reshaped an entire genre for years to come.

If anything, it reminded people of how open world games used to be especially the NES/SNES era standard of JRPGs where you have to LEARN and REMEMBER where to go and what to see to trigger the next set of events. That's what Elden Ring has in common with Metal Max and the Romancing SaGa series.

Elden Ring is reminding us that games can go against the industry flow and be a breath of fresh air in an industry where all open world's are starting to feel the same. Look, I would have been happy with either game winning GotY. But saying GoW Ragnarok got robbed shows a lack of appreciation for how spectacular a game Elden Ring is.
