[Elden Wing EP] Jyc Row - Applejack, Rotten to the Core

Heya everyone!
Here's finally the first track of that EP I was talking about a few months ago! A concept/parody mini-album with 7 boss themes, a crossover between "Elden Ring / Dark Souls" and "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" in collaboration with the incredible artist Neytirix!
I can't really say an estimate date of release for the other tracks as I'm working on several projects at once. Though I can say there won't be any other EW track until mid-September at least!
In any case, the first boss I made a track for is Applejack! And I do believe that, after 7 years as a composer in the fandom, this is the very first Applejack-related track I'm releasing!
Now, I also wanted to come up with some sort of "boss guide" to beat her, as if she was in a real game!

Other boss themes: Fluttershy, One With Nature: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpnFd6mvocuLY6c PHASE 1 (0:00 - 0:54): From 100% to 66% of Applejack's HP, your main concern will be the red (R) and purple (P) mushrooms she'll make appears a bit everywhere as this is what will gives you the most damage during this fight. While her direct magic attacks don't deal a lot of damage, if you don't dodge the mushrooms' AoE (Area of Effect) you'll stack a lot of DOT (Damage Over Time) and your HP will go down really fast after two stacks (you honestly can reset the fight if you go up to three stacks). At the beginning of the fight, Applejack will summon 3 mushrooms (could be either R-R-P or P-P-R, she'll alternate each time she summons, when all mushrooms have disappeared). The P-mushrooms stay 10s and have a circle AoE, while the R-mushrooms stay 5s then explode, letting a 5s "X" cross AoE. You'll also need to dodge Applejack when she'll jump on you, just after summoning her mushrooms. Be also careful to never go behind her - back kick will one-shot you! PHASE 2 (0:58 - 1:38): From 66% to 33% of Applejack's HP, a blue-ish mist with small blue particles will appears and will deal you a very small amount of damage every 5s. It shouldn't kill you if you dodge correctly during that phase (but, in case, bring potions). She'll only summon two mushrooms (one of each) and then she'll disappear in the mist. Now, you'll need to pay attention to the trees around you: when the R-mushroom will explode, the trees covered with PURPLE mushrooms will fall down. While they fall slowly, be sure to dodge them because you won't survive if you're hit. Then, Applejack will reappear behind one of the fallen tree and she'll charge you. She'll fight there for until 55% of her HP then she'll disappear again (same start for the next two times as she'll disappear again at 44% of her HP, then at 33% she'll switch to the third phase). PHASE 3 (1:42 - 2:56): From 33% to 0% of Applejack's HP, the mist will disappear and all the trees will fall down (dodge!). She'll take quite a horrific form with some sort of black, thick liquid coming out of her body and she'll grow six tentacles. She'll then jump in the middle of the zone. While she'll be slower, her attack will become much more powerful - fortunately you don't have to worry about the mushrooms anymore (some black crows will attack you but you won't be able to dodge them - it's only a small amount of damage though). Now, you'll have to pay attention to her tentacle: depending of which one "vibrates", her attack will be different. First of all, spot which side she'll attack. It could be on the right, on the left or in front of her (which will be if a left and right tentacle vibrate at the same time). Now, for the attacks: - If the superior tentacles (on her shoulders) vibrate, she'll slap a huge hit on the ground that will stun you for 2s if you're too close of her. Best thing is to switch side when you see one of them vibrating (and go away if it's the two of them). - If the middle tentacles (on her sides) vibrate, she'll create a black sludge that will grow overtime and will stay there for 15s. It deals a lot of DOT so move quickly! - If the inferior tentacles (on her back legs) vibrate, she'll sweep with the tentacles and you'll have to jump above it. You can go on the other side BUT keep in mind that if, for example, the left tentacle vibrate, she'll sweep on the left AND in front of her! If both vibrate, you'll have to jump anyway. Note: her defense is higher during the last phase of the battle, so it'll take more time to down her HP. She'll make her tentacles vibrate 5s after each attack so stay focus and it should end well!

@Şafak Ak Thanks! Well, I can't really answer that question as I don't really know myself ahah xD Regarding the lore, I have to admit that I didn't think much about it, sadly. In my mind, it's more like a totally alternate universe in the likes of Elden Ring or Dark Souls - instead of "Harmony" they'd be "Corruption", or something like that

oh, oh! How about something like, Nightmare moon was not able to destroy the elements of harmony, so she somehow tempted them as a mean of a trap. Everything would go as same as cannon until the mane six wear the tempted elements then the trap would be activated, and their minds would be trapped in a hazy, never-ending dream, while their bodies would still be empowered by the corrupted elements, thus the main six's bodies would become corrupted as well then the nightmare moon would hide each of the elements through Equestria each one empowers and is guarded by it's now corrupted bearer. I think something like that would be really cool. But anyway, like I said the music was also awesome I really felt something sinister and dangerous is coming for the poor victim. Oh this sounds phenomenal! It reminds me of this concept I've seen a long time ago... It was about sealed away cordyceps like fungi corruption, I think it was called Fields of Tranzelore or something? I love the female vocals in the beggining and the flutes, it gives it such a primal vibe!

I love the foreboding atmosphere at the beginning! It sounds like the choir parts play backwards at times, which helps amplify the horror aspect. The final phase part had a tragic feel to it, like if someone was having to fight an old friend. Well done!!

Also I think maybe for these kinds of videos. I think it would make it a bit more immersive if they had a full on picture for their finale form in the Stage 3 part of the boss fight. Like for example, in a flash Applejacks picture would have developed tentacles that in the video slowly move from side to side right as the third round starts.

As explained in the description, it is just some sort of crossover between the video games Elden Ring & Dark Souls and MLP, it'd be like "What if the Mane6 were horrific bosses in that kind of video game". On my end, this is also an experimental project for me to practice my skill on those kind of darker music
