How old are these kids. They display a shocking level of lack of self-awareness. My challenge to them is google how to be self aware. The types of questions just show they go with the wind. Life is not about a manual or learning how to ACT in situations or asking how do I live. It’s about discovering yourself and why you like certain things and instructions serve as a foundation from which you build your OWN individuality. If ppl say buy flowers for girls that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a fact. You still need to ask yourself why YOU are buying flowers. Is it because society says do so or is it because your girl enjoys flowers and you enjoy giving them to her because you enjoy seeing her happy etc. when you know your OWN reasons why you do things you will be in a better position to 1-explain it to ppl who may say “you are getting lost”. 2-understand why others do what they do Eg if someone says I don’t give flowers because it reminds me of funerals you will get where they are coming from. But if you are stuck at “to give or not to give flowers” and you are looking at someone to tell you which one to do then stick with that and shame those who don’t mmmmm that’s a shocking level of lack of self awareness. Same as dressing. Do you dress like South Africans just because they dress a certain way or do you ask yourself given how SAs and Zimbos dress how do YOU/I want to dress and why? Such that if someone makes a comment about it based on their own values you will be able to confidently say I wear this eg because I developed a like for it or it suits me better or I need to blend in instead of be the center of attention or that’s the only way to get opportunities etc. You know exactly why you are doing it and communicate it to someone else in a way that they too can see where you are coming from. Same with cohabitation. You can make your marriage more like dating or cohabitation if you understand what’s marriage and what’s cohabiting and how you will navigate both. And you pick someone who is on the same page as you who shares the same vision of marriage. But if you can’t make your own decisions or have no clue as to the differences or have no clue if your partner shares the vision then the marriage will be a mess. You can’t be asking for guidance from outside yourself, you have to have your own plan then use guidance as information or tools to build your own thing. You won’t be asking if ppl change after marriage if you understand yourself and know how to understand others too. Ppl don’t change after marriage the pressures of marriage just reveal what’s been already there. And if you have no eye to see what’s there before marriage because you are shockingly unaware of yourself and your surroundings then it may look like someone changed. As I said the answer to all this is self discovery and self awareness.
