Watched every minute. I have never been more excited about a board game in my life. Big ESO fan. Loved this playthrough. I haven't seen anyone do session 2 videos so I'm excited to see yours!

Really enjoyed the session! And loved that you added the rules explanations in between. Took like 2 weeks to watch this just a bit at a time with morning coffee. Now the most important question.... Where is the second part?!

I'm just starting to watch (at 1:30:00) and this has been (by now) incredible. It's by far the best TES:BotSE video I've seen, with a very good teach, great cadence of rules spam, exceptionally well edited and you also play very well, which makes a big difference in enjoyment. I'd definitely love to watch more! 😍 I'll comment below if I notice any mistakes being made (I've played only a little, but I've gone through the rules a few times and watched many videos, as it's my most anticipated game).

One pretty big mistake I've seen many players make with the Two Handed fighting style is that you ALWAYS resolve the dice first (regardless from which skill line the die it is), then add them to the cooldown track. That means that at 1:29:55 (and I assume that also happened in the future), you should first do the damage AND put light fatigue dice onto the CD track, then put the attack die onto the cooldown track to the right of the (4 at that moment) light fatigue die.

On day 3 (2:11:20. when you said "We get no reward."), you forgot to gain 1 additional normal Item when finding Dushkul before Dark Brotherhood Assassin found him (that was written in the section where the quest to find Dushkul was described).

Mistake at 1:47:36 (and repeated throughout). You cannot adjust a lockpick die from a 6 into a 1 or vice versa.
@Zandalus3 ай бұрын
Or better, you can adjust it but it will cost you 5 light fatigue and not 1 xD

What a nailbiter at times! :D Thank you for the extensive campaign playthrough :D It felt quite brain-burnery occasionally and I was very happy with the various encounter styles you experienced. Great table talk! Hope I can get my friends to play ... Still will have to wait for my language copy which is in production after Chinese New Year according to the latest CTG chat. ... SPOILER: The race-swap was truely brutal :P Very surprised they even included something game breaking like it ^^ I guess it is a very rare occurrence and felt so dripping with sarcasm, meant to pull the gamer's leg so to speak :D Wonder how different various sessions feel and wish you many more fun sessions together!

Man, this was absolutely incredible! And that Lamia was so funny. I imagine her slowing Dushkul to a crawl and him missing every single hit against Mudcrab, but then Mudcrab just derp smacked Dushkul on his armor and couldn't do anything to him in return. Meanwhile Mark running around in fear and thinking about that evil mfer Chieftain, who was lying on the ground dead already, because Mike already minced him into salami 😂 Valenwood looks like a crushing map and Deslandra makes sure you're running out of resorces on every step. Can't wait to play myself. My group already has a weekend booked off as soon as we get it. I would love to see more of this, at least the Part 2 and 3. If you did more, even better! And you guys are so incredibly nice... I subbed and I'll check out more of your videos 😊

Mistake at (3:37:48) Mike should be able to remove one black fatigue dice. "Each adventurer chooses and removes a number of dice from their cooldown track based on the game's difficulty. The dice can be of any type and in any position in their cooldown track, so this is not a Recovery step and is not impacted by their Cooldown stat." Overfatigue These are black. When an overfatigue die would be removed from the cooldown track during the Recovery step, it is instead placed in the track's leftmost open position. Overfatigue in the cooldown track deals damage to the adventurer during fatigue rounds in battle. It can only be removed during the Adventurers Rest step, by taking an inn town action, or by a game effect or special ability.

Ahhhh I am so excited for this to arrive.

Great video. Really like your post production additions and effects! I believe you can remove over fatigue during your adventure recovery step according to page 23 of the rulebook, for future reference.

Mike, I think the biggest problem why you felt like you couldn't do much early, Is that you really should get 3 stamina on any adventurer to move around, but 4 would be much better for someone who fights in close combat. Especially with Khajiit ability Cutpurse. Saving exp. doesn't really do much, except if you really want to buy a very expensive upgrade (like cooldown 5/6). The same goes for your two-handed - get more dice, throw more dice, move faster, get more exp. and the right items in turn. You should spend exp. early and when you get it, to be as maxed out as you can be, because moving more and defeating enemies faster means that your Khajiit would gain even more free items and movement in turn. That would give you better options like skills, more tenacity gain and more options to make your character what you want to make. In these kinds of games small early bonuses lead to big late game advantage. Sometimes you just need 1 more movement, tenacity, damage or item to do this or that. Or maybe have 2 more health so you can play much greedier, having more of a chance to get rewarded for it. If you saved points and didn't get that before, then you won't get the rewards eaither. 😁
@TheRealMrWolf3 ай бұрын
And about that Cutpurse ability - I think that it's secretly one of the best early abilities, since you gain so many items, and items give you stuff, or make you heal, or gain tenacity, recover fatigue etc. Even if they don't give you anything, you can give them away to friends, or trade them away at events throughout the game (like when someone Steals an item, it could be the useless one instead of the good one you had). Also, churning through more items means that there's a much higher chance of gaining those that you want, or finding more combos you can do with seemingly random stuff (like when you found the bow and found it possible that you can now snipe people from distance, while still focusing on melee build).

The MMO, Elder Scrolls Online, is based in the second era too. I believe Betrayal of the Second Era is narratively after the MMO.
@gregkleinfall19013 ай бұрын
You cannot use fatigue to change a lockpick die from 1 to 6 or 6 to 1. You can only increase or decrease the value by one for each fatigue taken.

Question if I can about resolving dice results? When Mike rolled his 2 two handed dice in the first combat he resolved the 6 damage and then the 4 fatigue from 2 dice. Do you have to resolve one dice at a time (so cool-down would have been 1 two handed dice and 2 light fatigue followed by another two handed dice followed by two more fatigue) or can you resolve “parts” of an effect and thus dictate order of dice / light fatigue in the cool-down track. Sorry if this is too detailed a question! Just wondered if you know?
@vladshulepov94103 ай бұрын
The right way to do this is to resolve one die (deal damage and gain 2 light fatigue), then exhaust the die, then repeat. So the cooldown bar should look like 2 light fatigue, 1 two-handed, 2 light fatigue, 1 two-handed. So you are correct about resolving one die at a time, but as gaining light fatigue is an effect of the die, you should gain it BEFORE exhausting the die, not after. Confirmed by CTG in their Discord
