The reason why ESO has so much more crazy magic that Skyrim is because it occurs 1000 prior to it and the gods and daedra still have greater influence over Tamriel as they practically rely on worship to keep their powers alive. In skyrim, the magic is super dulled down and you wont see stuff like teleportation or even hovering like in morrowind, which is only 200 years prior. Practically when the crises of the fourth era happened, especially the eruption of the red mountain, people started loosing faith and thus magic started waning.

The real reason magic like levitation isn't in the later games is because of technological limitations. In order to have cities with NPCs with complex schedules running on Xbox 360/PS3, Bethesda had to make cities their own seperate cell from the actual world, which is why most of the cities in Oblivion/Skyrim are walled and can only be accessed by going through their main gates, which allows the game to load the city without FPS issues. Bethesda was forced to pick between letting you levitate vs having more believable NPCs and they chose the later. Hopefully in TES VI we'll be able to have a more interesting magic system instead of the boring, uninspired one of Skyrim.

@@cris404 I can anwser that since I play daily. The only time you'd ever need to grind is before doing PVP. Everything in PVE that's not veteran dungeons or trials can be done at any level with any gear since the overworld is scaled to your level. You can get into trading with players and doing daily quests and everything like a usual mmo but you can go years without playing and jump into whichever questline you were doing.

The game is actually set 1000 years before Skyrim. There is a main quest line following the daedric prince of dominion, molag bal, attempting to merge the mortal realm with his own, coldharbour. You must stop him. There is also a main storyline for each individual zone that generally follows the politics of the region or issues faced by the people of the region such as invasions or bandits or even supernatural problems. There is also a war going on between the three alliances, which are the Aldmeri Dominion, consisting of the wood elves, the high elves and the kahjit, the ebonheart pact, consisting of the argonians, the nords and the dark elves and the daggerfall covernant, consisting of the redguards, the Bretons and the orcs. Depending on which race you choose, you will be placed into one of the alliances and will have the option to fight in the war in cyrodill. Each of the alliances wants to claim cyrodill as this will allow them to become the new empire; the last one had fallen as the emperor disappeared. The cyrodill part of the game consists of a long campaign of fighting over various cities in the region against players from the other factions. In most of the game you work in collaboration with other players, but it is pvp in cyrodill and the imperial city. Gold can be used to buy things from NPC merchants as well as guild stores. You can purchase anything from raw materials to be used in all kinds of crafting (woodworking, smithing, cooking, alchemy, enchanting, jewellery making) to ready crafted gear such as armour and weapons. You can find all kinds of merchants in market districts, but if you need help they will be marked on your map. The dlc quest lines are slightly different to the base game main storyline and quest lines for each region, though often times even more fun. The dlcs also add new mechanics to the game. Throughout each region there are also contracts to carry out for various npcs, and quests that are unrelated to any storyline at all. You can just pick a direction and walk, questing along the way. I personally prefer finishing the main storyline first, then moving on to the zone main quests and finally moving on to the dlc content but it is really up to you. At my point in the game I have finished all of the quest lines and am attempting to complete every zone by discovering every location and clearing every dungeon

you can have pets, they go everywhere with you and you don't have to summon them. They can't fight for you, though I have a mudcrab as a pet right now

Just a recommendation but you should play FromSpftware’s “Sekiro: Shadows die twice” it’s a souls game but Japanese samurai style, one of my fav games imo better then bloodborne

This is one of my favourite mmo's out of all the mmo's out there, I have 10 years into this game, the amount of stuff you can do in this game is amazing, Bethesda is amazing with there music, I have a DK tank, a mag DK, a magplar, a stamblade, magsroc, and a few others my main is my mag DK with end game gear, also you upgrade your bank space and backpack space at craglorn, you can buy better gear from merchants from guilds that own it as they sell there gear they own, you can also craft your armour weapons jewellery, make enchantments for your armour weapons,

ER, this game actually takes place in the 2nd era of tamrielic history, a time period previously unexplored in any of the games/books, so it is in fact BEFORE skyrim, by about 2 eras and hundreds and hundreds of years, skyrim takes place during the 4th era, oblivion during the end of the 3rd era, and morrowind during the middle of the 3rd era, just thought you'd enjoy knowing that fact :D, love your videos and happy you are talking about my favorite mmo

This is great. I've been playing since launch and to see someone just ENJOYING the game is so refreshing. Most people get caught up in the mechanics and technicalities of endgame. PLEASE keep your mindset of adventure and wanderlust. There is so much story and exploring to do first, the endgame will come later. Truth be told you don't need to play "endgame" at all, unless you are interested in group dynamic. Love to see it ER!

I am a lvl 553 dark elf dragonknight dual wield, ive been playing since 2017 and I love the Elder Scrolls universe and this game is great for exploring and playing with friends. The Deadlands DLC coming in the fall is what I am currently excited for.

Oh I LOVE THIS! I’ve played ESO on the PS4 since the LAUNCH and boy has it been a ride. The game you are playing now is vastly different from the one released and I wish more people could experience what the game became because it is so much fun now versus when it was released. I run a stamina wood elf night blade on my main but I also have some fun side characters like a stamina nord warden and a Templar character based off of Obi-Wan Kenobi! It’s been super fun for me and I’m glad you are enjoying it - I hope you can have some more fun with the game!

Oblivion was my first Elder Scrolls game which I loved, and then I was obsessed with Skyrim, I put so many hours into that game and it's still one of my great video game loves. I never got into ESO though! When it was first released I didn't like the subscription based content (I can't work due to health problems so I simply don't have the money for subscription games), and I wasn't sure about it being MMO since I liked the single player aspect of the previous games. Watching this has really tempted me to get the game and try it though!

I’m a min maxed so I won’t criticize you to much because it’s about having fun no putting out all the damage numbers .. but try to light attack in between abilities you use .. it conserves stamina for the harder/longer fights and it does a lot of damage in the long run but keep it up love this

I've been playing since Morrowind, my main is a High Elf Sorcerer (magicka DPS), but frequently switch to a Khajiit Templar (stamina DPS) or a High Elf Templar (healer) depending on the situation

And I’m sure that when you get to a higher level you’ll find plenty of things to spend that gold on 😂 I currently have just over 2 million and it’s never enough. Ps. If you make a character with the sorcerer class, you can summon pets that will travel with you and aid you in combat. They aren’t temporary and will stay with you until they die. The Warden class also has an ultimate ability that summons a bear.

Hey there Ephemeral :) Loved the vid and am a long time player of ESO as well! I just wanted to let you know, you can in fact have permanent pets that aid you in combat. Not every class, but the Sorcerer has access to daedric (basically demon) minions. Two of those are permanent summons.

Start research early, farm crafting materials from craglorn zone to have a chance of dropping valuable materials, and 27000 is pennies. If you want to make a lot of gold, join a trading guild to list items and passively earn gold. Many set pieces cost upwards of 100000 per piece. Ask people to craft you hundings rage and night mothers gaze with a 2 piece new moons acolyte. They will know what you mean. This game is hige and props for getting into it. Been playing for 2 years on ps4 before buying it on pc last year. Wont go back to ps4. Also make sure to get the shadow mundus or thief mundus. And turning on the UI settings for your hotbars and stuff helps. Glhf
